INDIANAPOLIS -- A body found by a group cleaning up their neighborhood on Indianapolis' northeast side over the weekend has been identified as an Indy woman reported missing back in December. The Marion County Coroner identified the body as Jaimie Beasley, 32, during an autopsy Monday morning. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to the scene around 11 a.m. Witnesses on the scene say a group was doing a neighborhood cleanup when one of the volunteers discovered what appeared to be a human body partially covered near the creek. Beasley was seen on December 15, 2017. She has a 9-year-old daughter. Family members said?back in January that they feared something bad had happened to her when she didn't return home. Beasley's death remains under investigation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.  906

In the wake of recent fatal pedestrian crashes, a law firm commissioned a study that reveals the most dangerous intersections for pedestrians in San Diego.In 2016, there were 103 pedestrian fatalities in San Diego County. Between 2010 and 2016, a total of 430 people were killed and nearly 8,000 injured in pedestrian crashes.According to the law firm Estey and Bomberger, the most dangerous intersection in San Diego lies in Hillcrest at the intersection of First Avenue and University Avenue.The below map shows the cities with the highest numbers of dangerous intersections in California. In response to a growing trend on social media, the Food and Drug Administration published a public warning this week about the dangers of taking too much of an allergy medication, diphenhydramine, commonly known as Benadryl.“We are aware of news reports of teenagers ending up in emergency rooms or dying after participating in the “Benadryl Challenge” encouraged in videos posted on the social media application TikTok,” the statement reads.When a teen girl died in August in Oklahoma City, her family blamed the 15-year-old’s death on a Benadryl overdose. The family blamed a “challenge” on TikTok where participants take a dozen or so doses of the allergy medication to experience hallucinations.Earlier this year, there were reports out of Fort Worth, Texas that three teens became sick and had to be rushed to the hospital after taking large amounts of the medication. According to Newsweek, when they recovered, the teens told officers they had taken the allergy medication as part of the TikTok challenge.Taking more than the recommended dose of Benadryl “can lead to serious heart problems, seizures, coma, or even death,” the FDA states.“We are investigating these reports and conducting a review to determine if additional cases have been reported,” the FDA stated. “We also contacted TikTok and strongly urged them to remove the videos from their platform and to be vigilant to remove additional videos that may be posted.”Johnson & Johnson, who manufacture Benadryl, released a statement to media outlets stating, in part, “The health and safety of people who use our products is our top priority. The BENADRYL TikTok trend is extremely concerning, dangerous and should be stopped immediately.”The FDA reminds parents and caregivers to lock up medicines to prevent accidental overdoses. They warn that with more children at home during the coronavirus pandemic, teens may be more likely to experiment. 1926

It was just a few days before Thanksgiving, when an 8th grader was shot and killed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.Sandra Parks was sitting in her room watching TV, when a stray bullet came through the window.“She said, ‘Mama, call the police. I been shot,’” Sandra’s mother, Bernice, describes of that night. “She was laying on the floor. I thought she was playing, but I called the police anyway because I’m like that’s too many gunshots, what the hell is going on?”The 13-year-old’s award-winning essay is now being shared around the world and read on national news outlets. In the young girl’s essay, “Our Truth,” Sandra wrote about gun violence.Sandra’s words are now some of the only things her mom says she has left of her daughter.“I don’t have her flesh. I don’t have her smiling at me all the time. I don’t have what I want, and I want my baby,” Bernice says. “Ain’t nothing gonna make that better. It’s just that being in this house, since she been gone, it’s strange, scary, and it’s unacceptable.”Bernice says her daughter’s words are giving her strength as she prepares for the funeral. The mother hopes Sandra’s essay might prevent another family from going through the same pain.“The stuff that she wrote, people should listen to it. Heed to it. Follow it, because it’s only right that kids should live. Adults should live,” she says. “I don’t think nobody should die, not by the hands of body else for no apparent reason. Isaias re-intensified into a Category 1 hurricane Monday evening shortly before approached the Carolina coast with top winds of 85 MPH, as of 9 p.m. ET.The National Hurricane Center said Isaias came ashore late Monday near Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina, as a minimal hurricane. Top observed wind gusts were found in Oak Island, North Carolina, at 87 MPH. Hurricane warnings are in effect for parts of the Carolina coast around the North Carolina/South Carolina border.The National Hurricane Center said it expects Isaias to pack hurricane-force winds over a small area of the coast, but much of the East Coast should be preparing for tropical storm conditions.Tropical storm warnings extend from South Carolina all the way to Maine. Major cities, including Baltimore, Washington DC, New York and Boston will likely see tropical storm conditions on Tuesday.Given the storm’s path, the hurricane could place a huge burden on the nation’s electric grid. The Edison Electric Institute said that crews are being sent to the coast to help with the response.“Preparing for major events like Isaias requires significant coordination among the public and private sectors,” the organization said. “Strong industry-government coordination and cross-sector collaboration are critical.
