(KGTV) – A Chula Vista family came home to their house completely ransacked by burglars.“It was a total mess,” homeowner Eric Deas said. “It was like a hurricane came into my house.”Deas says he left for his aunt's house around 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday. When he got back around 3 p.m. he found that someone had tried to get into his backdoor, then smashed a window to get in.The thieves stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry and electronics. But they also raided his fridge, drank his alcohol, and ate his food. They trashed his house, dousing his floors and furniture with booze.  Deas even found feces in the upstairs bathroom. "They didn't flush," he said.He also found a shoe in his aquarium.  About ten of his prized fish were dead.  He thinks the thieves dumped wine in the fish tank.“It looked like they had a good time,” he said.  “They had a party in my house. Unfortunately, it was a 'damage party.'”A neighbor’s security camera caught a white BMW park in the neighborhood. Then it appears of group of teens got out of the car and started walking towards Deas' house. The video was taken in the same time frame of the break-in. It was hard to make out faces or a license plate, but Deas thinks its video of the party bandits.The intruders also took something very sentimental from him.“My mom wrote me these handwritten notes. She passed away two years ago,” Deas said, “Things that sad, 'love you, ma.' It was personal.”Deas doesn't think he will get them back.“I call them punks; they don’t deserve to be people. (KGTV) — A Chula Vista man says he got a screeching, costly surprise after he started his car Wednesday morning.Along Regency Way, just before 6:30 a.m., Jimmy got into his Toyota Corolla S, which was parked in the street."Started the car. As I was pulling out, felt my car lurch to the side," said Jimmy, who asked us not to use his last name.The lurch came amid the most awful of noises."Pretty much like a crash ... felt the scraping of my rotor on the asphalt ... and then pretty much my car slammed into the asphalt itself. Traumatized and scared of what happened," said Jimmy.His heart sank as he got out and stared at the driver's side wheels, which had fallen off."My lug nuts were completely missing, all ten of them on the left side," said Jimmy.His repair estimate: a staggering ,500. He's insured with a 0 deductible. "Every little cost affects you. It matters," said Jimmy.Jimmy's vehicle was not the only target. Two blocks away the same morning, another driver shared a similar fate because of stolen lug nuts. A member of the HOA board for the nearby condos told 10news that a month ago, there were reports of a car with loosened lug nuts. The motive of the incidents remain unknown. Jimmy doesn't believe he was personally targeted, but he's fearful the thief will be back at it again. "It could have cost my life or another driver's life. CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- A group of neighbors in Eastlake are using social media to support each other during the COVID-19 pandemic. Jason Anderson created the Facebook page called 'Eastlake - Support COVID-19'. He got the idea after seeing another post on social media. He initially created the group to make sure children staying home from school wouldn't go hungry. The group is now being used for community members to find things like toilet paper, hand sanitizer, and food. Nothing on the group is for sale, Anderson says neighbors are just helping each other by paying it forward. The group has grown to over 800 members in just three days. The leaders of the group are hosting regular conference calls to plan and stay organized. The group is now brainstorming how to best help elderly members in the community since they might not be as social media savvy. China says it will impose sanctions on three U.S. lawmakers and one ambassador in response to similar actions taken by the U.S. against Chinese officials over alleged human rights abuses against Muslims in the Xinjiang region. Those targeted were U.S. Senators Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz, Rep. Chris Smith and Ambassador for Religious Freedom Sam Brownback. The four have been critical of the ruling Communist Party’s policies toward minority groups and people of faith.
