No injuries are reported.Rainfall caused delays Saturday at San Francisco International Airport.Forecasters say another strong system will bring rain and snow to Northern California beginning late Sunday.Motorists are urged to use caution on mountain roads, where up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) of snow could fall in the Sierra NevadaPCH is now closed from Las Posas Rd in Ventura County to Encinal Canyon Rd in Malibu until at least Jan. 6 due to mudslides & flooding. LOS ANGELES (AP) — Authorities say a Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy who said he was shot in a station parking lot was lying.Assistant Sheriff Robin Limon said at a news conference late Saturday that Wednesday's "reported sniper assault was fabricated" by Angel Reinosa, a 21-year-old deputy.A department statement on Thursday had said a round hit the top of Reinosa's shoulder, damaging his uniform shirt but failing to penetrate his flesh. But Sheriff's Capt. Kent Wegener says no bullets were recovered from the scene and detectives saw "no visible injuries." He says Reinosa eventually admitted making up the story and using a knife to cut the two holes in his shirt.Reinosa has been relieved of his duties and will face a criminal investigation. Wegener says Reinosa didn't explain a motive. 807

LOS ANGELES (KGTV) -- "The world is ready to heal," said Ashley Judd when asked about "Me Too" and the Time's Up movement and her date to the Oscars, Actress Mira Sorvino. Both women have accused Harvey Weinstein of harassment and both are part of the Time's Up movement. In October 2017, The New York Times published Judd's and other women's accounts of sexual harassment by the Hollywood producer. In the interview, Judd recalled an incident where Weinstein "sent her up to his room, where he appeared in a bathrobe and asked if he could give her a massage..."Sorvino's accounts of Weinstein's behavior are similar. The actress told The New Yorker that she rejected Weinstein's advances, but found it difficult to land roles after doing so. On the Red Carpet Sunday night, both women were asked what the Time's Up movement meant to them. Both said they're fighting for all women to have equality and respect in all industries - not just in Hollywood. Their appearance on the red carpet together is a symbol that speaks nearly as loud as the all black dress code of the Golden Globe Awards in January. 1147
LOS ANGELES (CNS) - An initiative to split California into three states has received enough signatures to qualify for the November ballot, its author said Wednesday.Venture capitalist Tim Draper said backers of what he has dubbed "CAL 3" would submit petitions with more than 600,000 signatures to election officials next week. The initiative needs signatures from 365,880 registered voters - five percent of the total votes cast for governor in the 2014 election - to qualify for the ballot."This is an unprecedented show of support on behalf of every corner of California to create three state governments that emphasize representation, responsiveness, reliability and regional identity," Draper said. Splitting California into three states would require congressional approval. One proposed state would be called California or a name to be chosen by its residents after a split. It would consist of Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Monterey and San Benito counties. A second state, Southern California or a name to be chosen by its residents, would consist of Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, Imperial, Kern, Kings, Fresno, Tulare, Inyo, Madera and Mono counties. The remaining 40 counties would be part of the state of Northern California or a name chosen by its residents. Draper said he conceived the initiative out of a belief that "the citizens of the whole state would be better served by three smaller state governments while preserving the historical boundaries of the various counties, cities and towns." Steven Maviglio, a longtime Democratic Party political consultant who was a co-chair of the effort to oppose Draper's 2014 initiative to split California into six states, told City News Service, "Splitting California into three and creating three new governments does nothing to solve our state's challenges other than tripling them." "CAL 3'' has no connection to efforts to have California succeed from the United States. 2050
