Alan Naiman was known for his frugality -- he wore Costco jeans, bought his favorite pocket T-shirts at a grocery store and squirreled away every penny he could. So when he died, friends were surprised to learn that he was leaving more than million to charities in the Seattle area.The 63-year-old never married and never had children, but kids were very important to him. American Airlines is extending flight cancellations into mid-August because of the Boeing 737 Max grounding.American, the world's largest airline, decided to extend cancellations from early June through August 19, to help plan ahead for the busy summer travel season. "But by extending our cancellations through the summer, we can plan more reliably for the peak travel season."Approximately 115 flights a day will be canceled through August 19, representing about 1.5% of the airline's total daily flights, they said.The airline has 24 737 Max jets in its fleet. According to Rear Admiral Robert Chadwick of the U.S. Navy, security forces responded to a reported shooting at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard around approximately 2:30 p.m. local time. The base confirmed that access gates were closed. Nearly 90 minutes after the incident, the gates to the base were reopened.Chadwick confirmed that the suspect shot three male civilians before shooting himself.The names of the victims will not be released until the next of kin have been notified.More than 19,000 active duty are stationed at the base.
