SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — County public health officials say the first shipment of a potential coronavirus vaccine from drug company Pfizer will only cover about 70% of the first group of recipients identified in Phase 1.The CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommends that Phase 1A of vaccine distribution covers health care workers, and residents and workers of nursing homes and long-term care facilities:On top of that distribution structure, ACIP also split Phase 1A into three tiers to prioritize which groups of health care workers will receive a vaccine first:Tier 1:Acute care, psychiatric, and correction facility hospitalsSkilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and similar settings for older or medically vulnerable individualsInclude residents in these settings as recommended for Phase 1A and ACIPParamedics, EMTs, and others providing emergency medical servicesDialysis centersTier 2:Intermediate care, for persons who need non-continuous nursing supervision, and supportive careHome health care and in-home supportive servicesCommunity health workers, including promotorasPublic health field staffPrimary care clinics, including Federally Qualified Health Centers, Rural Health Centers, correctional facility clinics, and urgent care clinicsTier 3:Other setting and health care workings, including specialty clinics, laboratory workers, dental/oral health clinics, pharmacy staff not working in settings at higher tiersAccording to San Diego County Public Health Officer Dr. Wilma Wooten, the county will only receive enough doses to cover about 70% of one group in the first tier of Phase 1A."We are not even getting enough doses for that first dot point in tier one," Wooten said, referring to acute care, psychiatric, and correction facility hospitals. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Days after revealing its move to downtown San Diego's Petco Park, KAABOO announced it's under new ownership.KAABOO's new owner, Virgin Fest, the music festival arm of The Virgin Group, will not change the festival's brand of live music, comedy, art, and culinary experiences, KAABOO said in a release.While Virgin Fest Founder and CEO Jason Felts has acquired all of the festival's assets, KAABOO San Diego itself will also not be rebranded. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Convoy Street already seems like its own neighborhood to many, always bustling with locals at its numerous Asian restaurants and shops.Thursday, community business leaders continued their efforts to put Convoy Street firmly on San Diego's map with a live mural painting art show.The mural, created by local artist Espa?a Garcia Feucht, covers the side of Cross Street Chicken and Beer and was painted live in tandem with Taiko drummers playing and other artists showcasing their work outside the restaurant. District 6 Councilmember Chris Cate was also in attendance to herald in the new neighborhood feature.RELATED: 10 must-eat restaurants on San Diego's Convoy StreetTommy Nguyen, owner of Cross Street, said the mural is just the first step in local efforts to get Convoy Street its own neighborhood sign, like ones currently over the Gaslamp Quarter and University Heights."Knowing that it'll take some time for the physical arch to go up, we decided to take matters into our own hands and put up a 'Welcome to Convoy' arch ourselves on our mural wall," Nguyen said. "I truly believe that Convoy is big enough to have it's own neighborhood arch."The mural features a rooster holding a beer (a tip of the hat to the region's craft beer scene and the restaurant the mural sits on) with the phrase "made in San Diego" underneath.
