Special counsel Robert Mueller has requested documents and information covering a range of events from President Donald Trump's White House, including two firings and an Oval Office meeting, sources familiar with the matter tell CNN.Mueller's investigators are looking for documents and emails relating to the dismissals of national security adviser Michael Flynn and FBI director James Comey, according to the sources. SHERMAN HEIGHTS, Calif. (KGTV) - A storage facility for homeless people to keep their belongings is at capacity, leading some people to call for expansion.The facility is in Sherman Heights, near 20th Street and Commercial. It opened in June of 2018 with room for 500 bins.It was full by Halloween.Now there is a 200 person waiting list. The city initially wanted to put 1000 storage bins in the warehouse, but pushback from neighbors led to a compromise of just 500.Neighbors worried that the facility would be a magnet for homeless people, drawing them to the area.Six months later, people who spoke to 10News say the opposite has happened. They still see homeless people in the area, but not any more than before the facility opened.They also say the amount of clutter on the streets and sidewalks has decreased dramatically.Crime has also gone down in the area. According to the crimemapping.com website, there were 188 crimes reported within 1500 feet of the facility in August of 2018. In December, that number had dropped to 73 (see chart above).Part of that is from extra police patrol. A recent police department report says that SDPD is spending nearly million on overtime to add patrols in the neighborhood of the facility.City officials told the San Diego Union Tribune they have no plans to expand the facility. This particular example only costs a dollar, plus there’s no charge for shipping, although they’re coming from China. But, while you might not pay for shipping on this particular order, you’re paying for it in other ways you might not know about.“We might not see it in that package, say of yoga pants that's being shipped, but we're paying the subsidy through taxpayer dollars,” explains Dempsey. “We're paying for it as consumers when we go to the postal service and send a small package. We're paying higher rates for that because the postal service is being forced to subsidize these foreign shippers into the United States.”Critics also argue the cheaper rates hurt American businesses, and the president's proposal could help keep or create jobs in the United States.“It gives manufactures a fair chance at competing in the U.S. systems,” says Dempsey.While prices might go up for some products, there could be an upside for consumers.“We'll see how much those packages go up in terms of the foreign packages coming in,” Dempsey says. “We'll also be looking to see if the package prices for U.S. shipments will be going down.” 1925

(KGTV) -- Some residents in Solana Beach are sharing their concerns about what appears to have been an organized illegal street racing event held over the weekend.A huge crowd of people gathered to watch several cars racing through the intersection, doing donuts and wheelies on Lomas Santa Fe Drive at Via Mil Cumbres on Saturday night at around 9:30 p.m."All of a sudden, we were completely stopped, and there are cars, and smoke and you hear tires squealing and we were trapped, so we were sitting ducks there," said Sally Fleck.Fleck said she had no idea what was happening."It looked like zombies to be quite honest, because there was so much smoke and it was so loud, I've lived here 20 some odd years and I've never seen anything like that," said Fleck.Dozens of residents posted pictures and video of the incident on social media."There were people, they were standing around watching cars do wheelies, it's lucky that no one got killed," said Fleck.The San Diego County Sheriff's Department confirmed it took several calls regarding the incident. Still, one of the reporting parties called back to say the group was gone before deputies were dispatched."I hope that it never happens again, and I'm really shocked that nobody was hurt.
