DETROIT — Investigators raided Perry Funeral Home in Detroit late Friday afternoon and have removed nearly 63 infant remains, according to Detroit Police. Officers found 36 fetuses in cardboard boxes and 27 more in freezers. The conditions of the fetuses are unknown.The Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) has revoked the funeral home's license and shut the facility down. 428

Cory Gardner (R, Colorado) said Friday he’d received assurances from President Trump this week that Colorado’s legal marijuana industries won’t be affected by Justice Department rule changes implemented earlier this year, and said the president backs a congressional fix.“Late Wednesday, I received a commitment from the President that the Department of Justice’s recission of the Cole memo will not impact Colorado’s legal marijuana industry,” Gardner said in a statement to Scripps station KMGH in Denver. “Furthermore, President Trump has assured me that he will support a federalism-based legislative solution to fix this states’ rights issue once and for all.”Gardner said that he’d decided to lift the remaining holds on Justice Department nominees that have been in place since January, when Sessions decided to rescind the 2013 Cole memo, which generally protected states with legal marijuana programs from extraneous federal law enforcement.He dropped some of the holds in February “as an act of good faith,” he said at the time, after discussions with the deputy U.S. attorney general. DEL MAR (CNS) - A 4-year-old gelding died today during training at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club, the second horse lost during the 81st summer meet.Irreproachable suffered an unspecified injury this morning during a workout, according to Del Mar track spokesman Mac McBride. Irreproachable had raced twice, once at Santa Anita in May and once at Del Mar last month, McBride said.The other fatality involved Lovely Lilia, a 3-year-old filly that suffered a fatal injury during a morning workout on July 11, and was later euthanized.McBride said Del Mar has not lost any horses during racing for the past two summer meets.While there were no racing deaths, four training deaths were recorded last summer, while the subsequent fall meeting saw three racing deaths and two in training.McBride noted that in both 2018 and 2019, the Jockey Club's Equine Injury Database recognized Del Mar as the safest major track in the United States.``We hope to continue in that role this year,'' he said. (CNS) -- Racing is set to resume at Del Mar Friday after three racing dates were canceled because 15 jockeys tested positive for the coronavirus.The Del Mar Thoroughbred Club responded to the positive tests that wiped out racing from July 17-19 by instituting new travel restrictions to include only permitting jockeys based in California to ride and prohibiting all jockeys who leave the track to ride elsewhere from returning to Del Mar for the remainder of the summer racing season.Del Mar also re-configured and expanded its jockeys' quarters, including moving some of the functions that normally take place in the jockeys' room to an adjacent area.Racing will be held Monday to make up for one of the canceled days. The other two lost days will be made up later in the season, on dates to be determined, said Tom Robbins, Del Mar Thoroughbred Club executive vice president for racing.Many of the races that had been scheduled for last weekend have been shifted to this weekend. DEL MAR, Calif. (KGTV) -- The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department is investigating after someone vandalized a park in Del Mar. According to authorities, someone drove onto the grass at Shores Park and did donuts overnight Sunday. Due in part to recent rain, authorities say the incident left extensive damage. The park is used by students of The Winston School and by pet owners as an off-leash park. The City of Del Mar is working to fix the damage but it’s unclear how much the repairs will cost at this time. 522
