SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Several men tried to scale the border fence at Border Field State Park Thursday evening.Video shows the men sitting on top of the wall attempting to get over. Border Patrol responded and agents were able to break up the crowd on the Mexico side of the border. Following the incident, the agency said it is willing to add agents in the area as needed. According to Border Patrol officials, about 167 arrests are made per day at the San Diego sector of the border. During that incident, several people successfully made it over the fence and onto the beach on the U.S. side of the border before being apprehended by agents. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego's Board of Supervisors announced 11 legally enforceable health orders to combat the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.The new health orders included:All public or private “gatherings,” defined as any event or convening that brings together 50 or more people in a single room or single space at the same time, such as an auditorium, stadium, arena, theater, church, casino, large conference room, meeting hall, cafeteria, or any other theater, church, casino, large conference room, meeting hall, cafeteria, or any other indoor or outdoor space, are prohibited. All non-essential gatherings of any size are strongly discouraged;All bars, adult entertainment establishments, and other business establishments that serve alcohol and do not serve food, shall close;All restaurants and other business establishments that serve food shall close all on-site dining. All food served shall be by delivery, or through pick-up or drive thru. Social distancing shall be required for persons picking up food on site.All businesses shall enact social distancing, increased sanitation standards, and shall make every effort to use telecommuting for its workforce. All businesses shall suspend any policy or procedure requiring doctor verification for sick or other leave approval;All public or private schools, colleges, and universities shall not hold classes or other school activities where students gather on the school campus. Parents of school-aged minor children shall take steps to ensure said children are not participating in activities prohibited by the Order and that social distancing requirements are practiced;A strong recommendation is made that all persons who are 65 years old or older, have a chronic underlying condition, or have a compromised immune system self-quarantine themselves at home;“Non-essential personnel,” defined as employees, contractors, or members of the public who do not perform treatment, maintenance, support, or administrative tasks deemed essential, are prohibited from entry into any hospital or long-term care facility. All essential personnel who show any potential signs or symptoms of COVID-19 shall be strictly prohibited from entry into hospitals or long-term care facilities;Hospitals and healthcare providers shall take measures to preserve resources including delaying non-emergent or elective surgeries or procedures where feasible;Hospitals, healthcare providers, and commercial testing laboratories shall report all COVID-19 test results to the Public Health Officer immediately after such results are received;All persons arriving in the county, from locations as found on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Warning Level 3 Travel Advisory shall be subject to 14-day home quarantine, self-monitoring;A strong recommendation is made for persons exhibiting mild to moderate symptoms of COVID-19 to self-isolate themselves in their place of residence unless seeking medical treatmentThe new orders go into effect at 12 a.m. Tuesday."It is not a request, it is not a suggestion. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Some COVID-19 survivors are noticing a surprising symptom months after their battle with the virus: hair loss.Nikki Privett said she had a mild case of COVID-19 back in April, but several months later, she says her hair started falling out in chunks.“I noticed that more and more was coming out in my hands and then eventually in July it became handfuls,” she told our sister station WRTV in Indianapolis. Dr. Nancy Maly, a physician in dermatology at Sharp Rees-Stealy, said she has seen more patients with complaints about hair loss recently, both from those who have recovered from COVID and those who have not been infected."I definitely have seen more patients lately coming in for hair loss -- with and without having had COVID," Maly said. "From what we know about COVID, there's not really a compelling reason to believe that it's the virus itself but more likely it's this stress-induced kind of hair loss that we know about and see all the time."Doctors believe it’s most likely a condition called telogen effluvium, a type of hair loss that can affect both women and men, and typically starts about three months after a stressful event.It can be triggered by emotional stress like a job loss or the death of a loved one, or by physical stress like a serious illness.Typically, adults shed about 100 hairs a day. But Dr. Maly said when your body is in shock or fighting a disease, there can be backlog on that hair loss.“During that stressful time, your body is prioritizing the most important functions and shedding your hair is not one of them,” she said. “So you end up having that delayed reaction where the hairs that were supposed to fall out during that time fall out later.”There is not a direct treatment for telogen effluvium but this temporary form of hair loss usually resolves itself after about three to six months, she said.There’s also early research showing a different kind of link between hair loss and the virus.Two small studies showed that bald men may be up to 40 percent more at risk of developing a severe case of COVID-19. Scientists theorize it’s because bald men have higher levels of a hormone called adrogen that seems to help the virus enter cells. 2216

I need something that gives me ultimate flexibility but also good pay," said King.Ten months ago, King signed up to drive for Roadie, a peer-to-peer shipping app that launched in San Diego about a year ago.  The Atlanta-based company matches people and businesses with stuff to send, with drivers headed their direction.On a recent morning, 10News stopped by King's home in Del Cerro and watched as he scrolled through a list of delivery jobs.  After a few seconds, he chose one.  Delta Airlines needed someone to pick up a bag from Lindbergh Field."I'm going to take it to Carlsbad for ," said King.10news rode along as he headed to the airport picked up his package from the Delta office.  It was a surfboard, one of two airport pickups he got that morning, both bound for North County.King says on a given day, he can complete about six deliveries and earn about 0.  He likes the pay and the power over his schedule."Uber is flexible, but this is the ultimate flexibility," said King."The whole idea is to tap into unused space already on the road to make delivery more efficient, more cost effective, more sustainable and faster than any other delivery method," said Jamie Gottlieb, Content Manager at Roadie.King says all that adds up to another perk: happy work days.        "I don't think I've ever delivered to a person who hasn't been happy to get their bags.  They're always happy!" said King. 1795
