LA JOLLA, Calif. (KGTV) — Coast Boulevard in La Jolla was shut down Thursday, and will remain temporarily closed, as city crews began emergency construction to stabilize a nearby cave.The city closed Coast Blvd. late Thursday to begin an emergency project to stabilize Cook's Crack after geology experts discovered a zone of weakness in the cave, which is located underneath the street.During a press conference, crews said the concern is an outright collapse of the section of road over the cave. Currently, the weakness "is not a slow settlement" and could fail if erosion happens underneath the street. Much of the dense rock had eroded, and now sand and roots were showing through from underneath.As part of the project, sections of Cave St. and Coast Blvd. will be temporarily closed to traffic for about six weeks. The city said it will make accommodations for nearby residents and business affected by the closure.Officials said the discovery came as the city assessed repairs to Coast Blvd."They said there's been some shift in the road itself," David Heine, owner of nearby Brockton Villa Restaurant, said. "The busiest two weeks of summer, literally ... Obviously safety's the number one concern for any city, and we respect that." Heine said crews are allowing pedestrians to continue to walk through the area.The city called in crews from Texas, who drove in overnight to take over the project. Friday, the crews began drilling into the street above to locate some of the weakest points. Eco-friendly polyurethane will be used to shore up those weak points, crews say.Cook's Crack is located in the area between La Jolla Cove and the popular Cave Store. The section of coastline is populated by several small caves that tourists can explore through an entrance in The Cave Store or kayaking nearby.The section of Coast Blvd. over the cave is a popular route to visit the cove and coastline, as well as restaurants that dot the street. 1954

He was charged with homicide and Krystal was later arrested and charged with aggravated child neglect or endangerment.Crews in Dickson County, Tennessee vowed they wouldn't stop searching until the young boy was brought home and laid to rest.A legal battle is looming especially since Joe Clyde Daniel's body still has not been found. It is a simple question sure to be asked by the public defender: without a body can prosecutors even prove that Joe Clyde Daniels is dead?Yes, it's true his father Joseph Daniels is said to have confessed to beating the child to death, but without actually having a body it's not a done deal."Certainly it's a more difficult case if they have nothing to back up the confession," said attorney Jim Todd, who's closely followed the case.He said there certainly could be other evidence, perhaps blood from the scene, cadaver dogs hitting on a scent or even witness testimony potentially from the child's mother."There's a good chance, and this is a guess, the wife is charged as a leverage point on her to get her to roll," said Todd.But then there's this: Daniel's father says he believes prosecutors coerced the confession out of his son.  What happens if he recants his statement and insists he is innocent?"The jury will hear the statement and determine on their own if he was coerced or gave this confession or not," said Todd.That situation would only occur if the case goes to trial, and a trial is a long way off. Next up, a preliminary hearing for both parents on June 1.That's when prosecutors will lay out much of their case. Much can change between now and then. The question is: will investigators have found the child's remains in time for the next hearing?Their case could hinge on that development. But when she heard about the Florida school shooting last week, it hit close to home.Judson, 23, graduated from Florida State University, which had a school shooting a few years ago. KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A group of St. Teresa’s Academy (Missouri) students were suspended following a Snapchat that showed them posing with beer pong cups arranged in a swastika.The picture, which was taken at a gathering off-campus during after-school hours, contained the caption, “Girls night!”The incident was met with outrage from alumni of the private, all-girls Catholic high school in Brookside.“Multiple people that I went to school with at St. Teresa's had posted on Facebook about it,” explained Maggie Henehan, who graduated from the school in 2008. “I was very disturbed and surprised."Alumni told Kansas City-based KSHB that the girls involved allegedly received a one day in-school suspension, which required them to write to their future colleges about the incident.“I feel that it was very lenient. I was surprised,” explained Henehan. “I remember people getting harsher punishments for getting caught drinking or being caught drinking outside of campus."In a statement sent to KSHB, the school said it was unable to report every detail of the case due to privacy and legal issues.However, the statement noted how the school conducted an investigation into the matter.“A group of STA students were drinking alcohol and participating in a beer drinking game. A picture of their activity, which was unrelated to any school sponsored event, took place off school property and after school hours, was posted on social media. The beer drinking game involved the placement of cups in a sequence resembling a hateful symbol,” the statement read. “Upon the incident being brought to our attention, STA leadership undertook an internal, as well as external investigation. We investigated the underage drinking as well as the potential for racial discrimination. We also involved the Kansas City Missouri Police Department.”After looking into the case, the school said penalties were handed down to the students involved.“Internal and external investigations concluded that this is a case of inappropriate and unlawful underage drinking,” the statement read. “After careful and complete review by the STA senior administrative team and in accordance with school policies, the students involved were disciplined.”The school did not comment on the specific penalties the students received.Moving forward, Henehan hoped the school would take a more aggressive stance against racism.“I hope that St Teresa's will step up and do what they need to do to make sure everyone feels welcome and everyone feels safe,” she explained. “It's definitely an opportunity for growth. KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A man trying to rekindle a relationship with a woman he met on Tinder was robbed by the woman and her friends after he posted a picture of him holding a large amount of cash on social media.An Overland Park, Kansas police spokesman said the man and woman met each other on Tinder in 2017 but decided to remain just friends.Recently, the man posted a picture on Snapchat holding a large amount of cash and boasting about the post. The woman he met on Tinder saw the post and asked if she could come over.The man agreed, but when the woman came over on May 23, she was joined by two other men who attacked the victim, cutting his head and fracturing his nose.Overland Park Police say three people were arrested.Johnson County Prosecutors have charged Lauren Butler, 18, Martez Taylor, 22, and Kain O’Keefe, 18, with one count each of aggravated robbery.
