HAWTHORNE (CNS) - A planned launch Saturday by Hawthorne-based SpaceX to deploy 57 internet satellites into orbit has been postponed for a third time to "allow more time for checkouts," the company tweeted.No new launch date was announced, but SpaceX officials said their launch team was working to identify the next earliest launch opportunity.The 10th Starlink mission, part of an effort to provide low-cost internet access, was originally scheduled for June 26 from Cape Canaveral in Florida but was scrubbed at the last minute to allow for more pre-flight equipment checks. SpaceX tried again Wednesday morning, but that launch had to be canceled due to bad weather.Saturday's launch had been set for 7:54 a.m. California time.When it eventually lifts off, the Falcon 9 rocket will carry 57 Starlink internet satellites as part of SpaceX's planned array to provide worldwide low-cost internet access, particularly in underserved areas.This 10th launch will increase the Starlink array to nearly 600 satellites in orbit. It's unclear exactly how many satellites will ultimately be included in the constellation. SpaceX founder Elon Musk has said previously that the service could begin operating when it reaches 1,000 satellites, and the company has already begun soliciting people to be "beta" testers. But the more satellites that are deployed will mean more comprehensive internet coverage.In addition to the 57 Starlink satellites, the SpaceX rocket will also carry a pair of satellites for Spaceflight Industries on behalf of Earth- observation company BlackSky.BlackSky is in the process of building its satellite array, with four already in orbit. The launch will increase the array to six, and the company has an initial goal of launching 16 by early next year. The array could ultimately have as many as 60 satellites, but timing on that expansion hasn't been determined.When the launch occurs, SpaceX will again attempt to recover the first stage of the Falcon 9 rocket by landing it on the company's "Of Course I Still Love You" barge in the Atlantic Ocean. 'Horse Museum' is the latest book by Dr. Seuss, launched Tuesday at UC San Diego's Geisel Library. The library sold copies of the book at a launch party in the Seuss room Tuesday. The book is about art, and helps kids of all sizes learn about art and museums. Lynda Claassen, the Director of Special Collections and Archives for the Geisel Library says the book is a treasure, found in a box by Audrey Geisel, Theodor's widow, in 2013. It was not a full book she discovered, merely a manuscript with storyboard pages. Using that manuscript, illustrator Andrew Joyner finished Seuss' work. Inside the book, there is horse artwork from greats like Pablo Picasso and Jackson Pollack, as well as cameo appearances by familiar characters like the Cat in the Hat. And Claassen promises it won't be the last: "there is more to come. There is always more." Theodor Geisel died in 1991, and there have been other posthumous works published, including 2015's 'What Pet Should I Get?'His wife Audrey died in December 2018. GREELEY, Colorado — Authorities released Monday the autopsy reports of Shanann Watts, 34; Bella Watts, 4; and Celeste Watts, 3. The reports concluded that all three victims died of asphyxiation — Shanann was strangled while the two girls were smothered, according to the reports. The reports had been sealed until the outcome of the trial. However, Chris Watts — Shanann’s husband and father of Bella and Celeste — pleaded guilty to their murders earlier this month and was sentenced Monday to life in prison without the possibility of parole.All three victims were pronounced deceased on Aug. 16. The girls' bodies were found submerged in an oil tank on property owned by the company Watts worked for. His wife's body was found in a shallow grave nearby.The autopsy reports state that Shanann Watts was found in a purple T-shirt and underwear. She had patterned abrasions on her neck and the left side of her face when her body was found. Weld County District Attorney Michael Rourke said during sentencing Monday that the lack of significant injuries to Shanann Watts suggested that her death came slowly.The coroner noted in the report that Shanann had been in the second trimester of pregnancy at the time of her murder. Family members had called the unborn child “Nico.” Chris Watts was convicted of unlawful termination of a pregnancy. Bella’s report indicates she had a pink pajama-type top with images of hearts and butterflies and underwear on when her body was found. The coroner found blunt force trauma on Bella’s jaw and lacerations and contusions in her mouth. Her left shoulder was discolored, and teeth impressions and superficial bite marks were found on the surface of Bella’s tongue — signs, Rourke said, Bella "fought for her life." Celeste was found in a pink and black T-shirt. The 3-year-old was wearing a diaper and underwear. Celeste had no visible injuries.Prosecutors said Chris Watts was having an affair and making plans for a new life. Rourke said Watts talked with a real estate agent about selling the family's home, looked up secluded vacation spots and didn't seem interested in the self-help books his wife provided.A friend asked police to check on Shanann Watts on Aug. 13 after not being able to reach her and grew concerned that the expectant mother had missed a doctor's appointment. Watts spoke to Denver7 from the front porch of the family's home in Frederick, pleading for his family’s safe return.
