PETERSBURG, Fla. — Rapper Lil Wayne has been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, an offense that carries a potential sentence of up to 10 years in prison.Documents filed Tuesday in Miami federal court say the rapper, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., had a gun and ammunition on Dec. 23 of last year despite knowing he had the previous felony.Authorities say Carter acknowledged owning the gold-plated handgun after his luggage was searched upon arriving in Miami on a private plane."Carter is charged with possessing a gold-plated handgun in his luggage on a private plane," Howard Srebnick, a lawyer for Lil Wayne, said in a statement. (KGTV) - Surveillance video captured intruders surprised by an alarm during a burglary in Spring Valley Wednesday night.The break-in unfolded in Eva Bradley's home off Paradise Valley Road while she was at work. "I'm sad, upset and angry." said Bradley.Just before 11 p.m., a guest bedroom window was forced open. A surveillance camera was rolling in the bedroom of Bradley's 8-year-old son, who was not home. "Scary, scary. Just glad we weren't home. Such as violation," said Bradley.In the video, a person is seen shining a flashlight in the dark. He leaves and another intruder, wearing a hoodie, enter the room and opens a drawer. Moments later, the camera is struck and falls over. Soon after in the living room, the burglar with the flashlight - now toting a bag - is sneaking through the room before he triggers the motion sensor and the alarm. He and another figure then run out of the room.The break-in was cut short, but the thieves made off with iPads and jewelry, including a gold and diamond-shaped ruby ring which Bradley's grandmother wore every day before she died."I didn't get a chance to say goodbye before she passed away ... It's the only physical thing I have to remember her by," said Bradley. Bradley is likely not the only victim. SHERMAN HEIGHTS, Calif. (KGTV) - A storage facility for homeless people to keep their belongings is at capacity, leading some people to call for expansion.The facility is in Sherman Heights, near 20th Street and Commercial. It opened in June of 2018 with room for 500 bins.It was full by Halloween.Now there is a 200 person waiting list. The city initially wanted to put 1000 storage bins in the warehouse, but pushback from neighbors led to a compromise of just 500.Neighbors worried that the facility would be a magnet for homeless people, drawing them to the area.Six months later, people who spoke to 10News say the opposite has happened. They still see homeless people in the area, but not any more than before the facility opened.They also say the amount of clutter on the streets and sidewalks has decreased dramatically.Crime has also gone down in the area. According to the crimemapping.com website, there were 188 crimes reported within 1500 feet of the facility in August of 2018. In December, that number had dropped to 73 (see chart above).Part of that is from extra police patrol. A recent police department report says that SDPD is spending nearly million on overtime to add patrols in the neighborhood of the facility.City officials told the San Diego Union Tribune they have no plans to expand the facility. SOLON, Ohio — An Ohio police department is warning of a Netflix email phishing scam that is asking people to update their payment details after one of their officers, who doesn't even have a Netflix account, received the email.The city of Solon, Ohio Police Department put out the warning, saying criminals want you to click the links so that you voluntarily give out your personal information. The links also could install malware on your computer.In a photo, the very real-looking email it asks users to update their payment details, saying the account is on hold."Hi Dear, We're having some trouble with your current billing information. We'll try again, but in the meantime you may want to update your payment details," the email reads, with a link to update the account.Netflix said if you believe you have received a fraudulent email appearing to be from the company, never enter your details, never click on any links and do not reply to it.
