QINGDAO, June 8 (Xinhua) -- When taking up the rotating chair of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in June last year, China promised "best efforts to fulfill the task, working with other parties to give the people a greater sense of gains and ushering in a brighter future to the organization."
Xi said that both sides should develop Sino-Indian ties from a strategic perspective, constantly enhance mutual understanding and trust, and promote all sectors and people of the two countries to deepen mutual understanding and cultivate friendly feelings.
Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi made the remarks while meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on the sidelines of the Formal Meeting of the BRICS Ministers of Foreign Affairs here.
Xi made the remarks when meeting with visiting British Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
He said China is willing to strengthen cooperations with Portugal in important fields such as sea ports which are the major concerns of Portugal, and actively explore the ways of starting third-party cooperation.
