These counties also represent heavily-Democratic leaning constituencies, and the majority of those votes are anticipated to be for Stacey Abrams, the statement read. The campaign also said it was waiting for absentee ballots -- "another major pickup opportunity for Abrams"-- to be counted, something that Abrams told her supporters in Atlanta as well."Across our state, folks are opening up the dreams of voters in absentee ballots, and we believe our chance for a stronger Georgia is just within reach. But we cannot seize it until all voices are heard," Abrams said at the event early Wednesday morning. "And I promise you tonight, we're going to make sure that every vote is counted."Voters rights issues have taken front and center in the Georgia high profile gubernatorial race between Kemp, the GOP secretary of state, and Abrams, a Georgia state representative. If elected, Abrams would be the nation's first black female governor.Democrats have accused Kemp of a conflict of interest as he refused to step away from his post overseeing state elections while he campaigned for governor.Last month, a federal judge ruled Georgia election officials had to stop rejecting absentee ballots with voters' signatures that didn't appear to match signatures on record. On Sunday, Kemp's office opened an investigation into the Georgia Democratic Party for what it said was an attempted hack of the state's voter registration system, without providing proof. Georgia Democrats flatly denied the allegation. He dismissed critics alleging that he weaponized state law to suppress the minority vote as "outside agitators."A lawsuit filed Tuesday in a Georgia federal court by five state voters asked a judge to strip Kemp of his powers over the midterm election -- including any potential runoffs.Voters in the Peach State also faced long lines and malfunctioning machines during Tuesday's vote. 1887

To qualify to be a part of season six, you must be a current homeowner in Waco or in the final stages of closing on a home within 30 miles of Waco, the couple said under the FAQ part of its website."I mean it when I say that it wasn’t more than a few weeks ago that we first talked about returning to the show," Chip said. "I mentioned it to Jo, fully expecting her to tell me I was crazy. But instead, in a real sincere way, she told me she’d been missing it too. I get that it all may seem a little impulsive and that might be true. But the more Jo and I talked it over, the more we began to see it for what it really is: an opportunity to get to share with you some of the projects we care most about."To be eligible, the duo said the homeowner(s) must:Be 21 years of age or olderTheir renovation budget must be a minimum of ,000The Gaines', their design and construction teams, and Magnolia Network must have complete design controlRenovations must start in early fall 2020 and to "vacate the property for the duration of the renovation."You can email your application to casting@magnolia.com if you meet the listed criteria."We’re gearing up to start filming again, and I’ll be honest, Jo and I feel like a couple of kids trying our best to keep down a few butterflies," Chip said in the post. "But we are mostly just giddy about getting the band back together again so we can share the story of these families and their homes with you."The show will air sometime in 2021. 1480

Today, El Paso is ready to take the next step in expanding its water portfolio. It is building a closed loop system that will treat sewage water and turn it directly into drinking water. Among water professionals, it's called "direct potable reuse" or "advanced purification.""It's the logical next step for us to take," said Gilbert Trejo, the chief technical officer of El Paso Water.El Paso; Orange County, California; Scottsdale, Arizona, and several other utilities across the country treat sewage water and then pump it back into the aquifer to ultimately drink. Trejo says it can take about five years for the water to filter through the ground before being pumped back out and treated to the standards of clean drinking water. This treated water is also frequently used for irrigation and industrial purposes.El Paso is building a completely closed loop facility; instead of being pumped back into the aquifer, the treated sewage water will undergo additional filtration and then be sent back into drinking water pipelines. "We see this water that's clear and it's of good quality," Trejo explained to Gupta. "The next thing for us to do is to take a high-quality water we produce at a state-of-the-art facility and then treat it a little bit more with multiple treatment processes so we can drink it."According to the EPA, the amount of wastewater produced in large cities can represent 50% to 60% of the total water supplied, providing a massive resource for cities like El Paso that are scouring for water. To make sure the water is clean of any pathogens or microbes, treated sewage water is sent through multiple steps of filtration, including UV and carbon filtration. Studies have found that treated water is, in fact, less likely to have contaminants than untreated river or lake water.Efforts by other municipalities in Texas and California to use "direct potable reuse" haven't always gotten off the ground because of the "ickiness" factor. Community buy-in is key to getting these projects launched, said Justin Mattingly of the Water Research Foundation. "These are public agencies. They belong to the public. So you might as well ingratiate the public as well."Archuelta's legacy of water conservation and education has primed El Paso for this moment."Everybody sees that we're in the desert that we're in an arid climate. Rain is scarce ... so when we tell our customers that we're doing everything possible and using every water resource around us to treat and make it safe for consumption, they take it pretty well."By 2030, El Paso Water expects that desalination will produce 10% of its water supply, and 6% will of come from advanced purification.Trejo told Gupta that it's not just the future for El Paso, it's the future for many other cities also faced with having to look for water."Technology allows us to treat [water] to a very high standard and makes it very safe to drink. Water really is all around us in every city." 2953
