NEW YORK — Whether you thought SantaCon was naughty or nice, New Yorkers can check the annual bar crawl off their list this year.The organizers of SantaCon NYC have announced the event will not take place this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.“2020: The year there was no SantaCon. Remain home and stay on the Good List! We are all in this together so to keep the spirit alive, we have to socially distance and wear a mask. Looking forward to 2021,” an announcement on the official website says.Tha annual event calls on participants to dress up as Santa, elves or other Christmas creatures from the North Pole for a city-wide bar crawl. NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Orlando Ortega posted a Facebook video of his now-former co-worker, Eileen Marcinkowski, calling him the N-word Sunday. The video has more than 150,000 views.But the owner of the restaurant where the incident took place said the video doesn't tell the whole story. “The lady in the video he actually did hit. She had blood on her face, she was bleeding," said Jane Thursfield, owner of Cactus Jack. Thursfield said Ortega provoked the fight when he punched Marcinkowski in the face after he was let go by the restaurant. Scripps station WFTX in Fort Myers could see no evidence of blood on Marcinkowski's face in the Facebook video. The owner said even if Marcinkowski was provoked, the racial comments were not OK. “No, no, of course not," Thursfield said. "No, we don’t condone that at all.”Other customers, like Johnny Samz, who said he regularly eats at Cactus Jack, agreed. “I don’t think it’s ever good, for anybody to use the N-word," said Samz. "I don’t care what the circumstances are.” WFTX's Jasmine Minor asked since Ortego no longer worked at the restaurant, if Marcinkowski would face the same fate. “She is still working here, yeah," said Thursfield. "I have not been here long and she’s working, but we will obviously address that.” The owner said the incident took place "off-the-clock" and "off business property." NEW YORK — A federal appeals court ruled Wednesday morning that New York District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. can get access to President Donald Trump's personal and corporate tax returns.The ruling by a three-judge panel in New York rejected the president’s argument that the subpoena for his taxes should be blocked because it was too broad, and could be seen as political harassment from the DA.Vance says his office will not enforce the subpoena for 12 days in exchange for the president’s lawyers agreeing to move quickly, according to the New York Times.It has been over a year since the district attorney first subpoenaed eight years of Trump’s tax returns and other financial records as part of an investigation into the president’s business practices.Wednesday’s decision is the fifth time courts have rejected Trump’s attempts to block the subpoena. His lawyers are expected to appeal the ruling to the United States Supreme Court.Vance has not revealed the details of his office’s investigation, however court papers suggest they are looking at a range of potential crimes including tax and insurance fraud and falsification of business records, according to the New York Times. 1197

Scholastic says Cole, a resident of Sioux City, Iowa, died Sunday. With the ever maddening but inspired Ms. Frizzle leading her students on journeys that explored everything from the solar system to underwater, “Magic School Bus” books have sold tens of millions of copies and were the basis for a popular animated TV series and a Netflix series.
