The group got together to make 800 tamales to hand out, along with some festive Christmas cookies. Barron and the volunteers will be at the stadium today until noon. An overnight desk employee working at the historic Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colo. won’t have any ghost sighting stories to tell family and friends – they’ll have something much better.That’s because that employee came face-to-face with a black bear while working the graveyard shift Wednesday evening into Thursday morning.Video obtained by Scripps affiliate in Denver KMGH-TV shows the unwanted guest wandering around the lobby of the Stanley Hotel, as if to make sure things at the hotel were running according to plan. ARVADA, Colo. — At 90 years old, Ken Felts is writing about his old life and is now living his new one."There's myself Ken, who's a straight man and then my inner self Larry, who is a gay man," Felts said.Felts has hidden that part of himself from the world his whole life."I was doing my best to be straight and I thought I was, it's just not possible unless you really are," he said.Felts recently wrote a message on Facebook to friends and family."The message was: I am out, I am gay, I am free," Felts said of the post.It was a weight lifted off his shoulders. Since the age of 12, he's kept his sexuality hidden. In his 20s, Felts had a secret relationship with a man named Phillip."I had this terrible dichotomy of what's right and what's wrong," Felts said.After nine months, Felts skipped town, leaving Phillip behind. Felts would go on to have a family, becoming a husband, father, and grandfather.After being divorced for 40 years, Felts continued to search for Phillip. An investigator even reached out offering to help find Phillip after his coming out.On Thursday night, Felts found out Phillip died two years ago."I'm sorry I waited so long. An Alabama family is mourning a man killed by police Thanksgiving night after being mistaken for the shooter who injured two people at a mall.An officer fatally shot Emantic Fitzgerald Bradford Jr. about 10 p.m. CT Thursday at the Riverchase Galleria in Hoover, a Birmingham suburb. At the time, authorities said he got into an altercation at the mall and opened fire, injuring two people ages 18 and 12.An officer encountered an armed Bradford fleeing the scene and fatally shot him, police said.But after conducting forensic tests and talking to witnesses, investigators said Bradford might have been involved in the altercation but likely did not fire the rounds that injured the two youths.The gunman is still at large and police have not provided a name or description.Relatives are demanding answers as they mourn a man they call EJ."EJ was a devoted son and brother, who dedicated his life to serving his country and always doing the right thing," his family said in a statement."As we continue to grieve, rest assured that we are working diligently with our legal team to determine exactly what happened and why this police officer killed our son. We will never forget EJ, and ask for your continued prayers during this incredibly difficult time.""They killed him for no reason at all. An iconic, 25-foot-tall statue in Escondido just got its Christmas swag back.Vandals and rain kept the muffler man on the Joor Muffler lot from sporting his Santa suit for years.But Joor and Sickel's House of Fabrics, two historic businesses across the street from each other, came together to re-start the tradition."It's an icon. It's historic, so we tried to bring him back," said Nick Manning, who has owned Joor Muffler for 15 years. It took six people about an hour to put up the suit, at the corner of Valley and Juniper in Escondido. They did it they day before Thanksgiving to beat the rain.
