FORTVILLE, Ind. — We continue to learn more about COVID-19 especially the symptoms and researchers are finding survivors are still dealing with the virus months after beating it.“Luckily for me, I did not have a severe case,” Nikki Privett said.She was diagnosed with COVID-19 in April.“I thought everything was fine. I thought, OK, the worst part was my eyes hurt to move,” Privett said.She thought she was in the clear until several months later when she says her hair was coming out in chunks.“At the end of June I noticed, you know girls our hair always falls out in the shower, but I noticed that more and more was coming out in my hands and then eventually in July it became handfuls and I was shocked and I was trying to figure out what was happening,” Privett said.“The long-term symptoms are you know there's a lot more of them than we expected,” said Dr. Natalie Lambert, an associate research professor at Indiana School of Medicine.Lambert said they’ve found COVID survivors are feeling a wide range symptom including hair loss.“We're finding that hair loss is temporary so that when the body starts to recover because it's a huge shock to have COVID-19 the virus impacts many different bodily systems at once so your whole-body needs time to recover,” Lambert said.“I hope that all of this is just temporary and that our bodies will learn to fight this,” Privett said.Lambert said a symptom that is really concerning to her and other researchers is vision changes. Four days after a massive earthquake?killed at least 347 people on the Indonesian island of Lombok, a 5.9 magnitude tremor hit the island, sending frightened residents onto the streets.Thursday's seismic event follows a 6.9 magnitude quake Sunday that flattened homes and stranded thousands of people on Lombok's northern coast and the nearby Gili Islands.The northern part of Lombok is more residential and less developed than the resort-filled south. FORT MYERS, Fla., - A new class is coming to Florida Gulf Coast University and it's raising eyebrows.The class is called ‘White Racism’ and will be offered in the Spring. “I thought the name was a little dramatic,” student Jamar Arrindell said. “It's been a growing topic of conversation."The topic took center stage at an open forum Thursday night titled “Race, Immigration and White Supremacy in the Post-Obama era.”“I saw the flyer for the event and had to come,” said Vanessa Fernandez, a former FGCU student. "I think it's important for us to talk through it so we can understand each other's sides”Dr. Ted Thornhill, a sociology professor, will be teaching the course."I understand why some people might be uncomfortable by the title," he said. "But in order to move the conversation forward people have to get comfortable with getting uncomfortable." Thornhill said the new course wasn’t developed in response to racially charged messages found around campus last fall, but to give students a broad idea of the history of racism, white supremacy and how to challenge racism in today’s society. “Silence is not the answer," he said. FLORIDA — Police say former Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins player Richie Incognito was involved in a disturbance at a Lifetime Gym in Boca Raton, Florida on Wednesday morning.Police said Incognito was involuntarily committed under Florida's Baker Act. The act allows officials to apprehend and order a mental evaluation of a person.Incognito reportedly threw a dumbbell at a man at the gym and that's why police were called, according to TMZ.com.Incognito played for the Buffalo last season. In the buildup to the draft, he took a restructured contract with the Bills, publicly fired his agent on Twitter after that deal was signed, and retired shortly after that. The Bills officially added him to the reserve/retired list on April 12.Once Organized Team Activities started around the league, Incognito -- according to ESPN -- wanted to make a return to the NFL, despite retiring from the league and team just one month prior. The Bills granted his reported wish, releasing him off the reserve/retired list on Monday.The move officially made Incognito an unrestricted free agent, able to be signed by any other team.
