SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Home prices in the US fell in May while San Diego home prices remained flat and rents rose sharply, according to a new Zillow report. Zillow says the median home in San Diego is now worth 1,000. In the US, the median home is worth 6,800, down 0.1 percent from April. Overall, Zillow says home values in the US grew by more than 5 percent year-over-year. RELATED: Zoning rules partially responsible for low housing supply, report saysMeanwhile in America’s Finest City, median rents increased to ,660, an increase of 4.6 percent year-over-year. Some good news however, is that San Diego’s housing supply is increasing. Zillow says inventory is up 11.5 percent year-over-year. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Eight San Diego County gyms have filed a lawsuit against state and county leaders over the public health orders due to the coronavirus pandemic.The gym owners say that restrictions on their business by California and the county have caused, "difficulty in satisfying their financial obligations, having been forced to lay off a significant number of employees" and they have "expended large sums of money in an effort to comply with Defendants’ vague orders."Gym owners say they have lost tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars, in some cases, retrofitting their businesses to be compliant with reopening measures.The Plaintiffs include Metroflex Gym in Oceanside, Ramona Fitness Center in Ramona, Boulevard Fitness in University Heights, Deadweight Strength in Grantville, Convoy Strength in Kearny Mesa, IB Fitness in Imperial Beach, and Being Fit in both Clairemont and Mira Mesa.The owners added that they have sought clarification of the orders and how they're enforced by law enforcement and the county, but have not received any clarification from officials.The lawsuit claims that public health orders labeling their businesses as nonessential without allowing them to challenge it, and mandatory closures, are not constitutional.Defendants include Gov. Gavin Newsom, all five San Diego County supervisors, and the mayors of each city where the gyms are located. Various local law enforcement and public health officials, including Wilma Wooten, Sheriff Bill Gore, and SDPD Chief David Nisleit, were also named. 1548

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Family and friends of Sabrina Rosario gathered Saturday night for a memorial service to honor her and her four boys. Rosario and her boys were killed by her estranged husband, the children's father, last month. The boys: Enzi, 3, Zuriel, 5, Ezekiel, 9 and Zeth, 11. Rosario was 29-years-old. RELATED: Fourth boy dies following murder-suicide in Paradise HillsRosario's mother, Gloria Collins, said the night was meant to be a celebration for her daughter and grandchildren. Collins says her daughter was brave and beautiful and she finds comfort in knowing she's in a better place. Roughly 400 people filled the church in Paradise Hills for the memorial. Pictures and flowers filled the front of the room. The service included prayer, singing and stories of Rosario and the boys. Rosario had been granted a restraining order from her estranged husband just hours before she was killed, but that order was never served. 947

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Family members of a DUI crash victim shared emotional stories about their loss at the driver’s sentencing hearing Friday. Lauren Freeman cried as statements were made about the Feb. 2018 crash in Ocean Beach. Prosecutors said Freeman drove the wrong way on a transition ramp between I-5 and I-8, crashing into Justin Callahan’s car. “I'm Justin's father, he is buried next to his sister who died in 2005. So I think that there's a rule somewhere that children aren't supposed to die before the parents,” said Callahan’s father. Callahan was headed home to Ocean Beach from his job in Chula Vista when he died. RELATED: DUI driver pleads guilty to 2018 wrong-way crash on I-5 rampDuring the hearing, Freeman gave a tearful apology, saying she would do anything to change what happened that night. She also said she hopes Callahan’s family can one day find it in their hearts to forgive her. Freeman pleaded guilty to several charges, including gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. She was originally charged with murder but that was dropped during a plea deal. As part of her agreement, Freeman will serve 11 years, eight months in prison. 1176
