Two uniformed police officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department were denied service Thursday night at The Lodge at Cactus near Cactus Avenue and Southern Highlands Parkway.A post about the incident has received a lot of attention on social media.The graveyard police officers had gone into the restaurant for food and the bartender reportedly told them that the restaurant did not serve "you guys" anymore. While we consider this behavior unacceptable, we firmly believe that the refusal was an employee acting solely on his own, and it does not represent the viewpoint of the establishment. According to management at The Lodge it welcomes law enforcement at its business. The involved employee has now been suspended from work. That's according to an administration official who spoke Tuesday to The Associated Press. The revelation comes days after Barr took a public swipe at the president, saying in a television interview that Trump’s tweets about Justice Department cases and staffers make it “impossible” for him to do his job. The next day, Trump ignored Barr’s request and insisted that he has the “legal right” to intervene in criminal cases and sidestep the Justice Department’s historical independence. Barr has agreed to go before the House Judiciary Committee on March 31 to respond to allegations that the Department of Justice is making decisions that are politically influenced.The House Judiciary Committee wants to question Barr on three incidents from this week that it found questionable.Trump ally Roger Stone was convicted on charges of lying to Congress, tampering with a witness and obstructing a House investigation. The Transportation Department says it will suspend passenger flights by four Chinese airlines to and from the U.S. beginning June 16 — sooner if President Donald Trump decides to do so.
