TORONTO (AP) — Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is quarantining himself at home after his wife exhibited flu-like symptoms. Trudeau's office said Thursday that Sophie Grégoire Trudeau returned from a speaking engagement in Britain and had mild flu-like symptoms, including a low fever late, Wednesday night. She is being tested for the COVID-19 disease and is awaiting results. “She is self-isolating at home awaiting test results, and her symptoms have since subsided,” a statement from the PM’s office says.According to the statement, a doctor has advised the PM to continue daily activities while self-monitoring, given that he has no symptoms himself. “Out of an abundance of caution, the Prime Minister is opting to self-isolate and work from home until receiving Sophie's results," wrote Trudeau’s office. 829

TUCSON, Ariz. — While the fight over border wall funding will apparently lead to a partial shut down of the federal government, political supporters of President Donald Trump are taking matters into their own hands.A viral crowdfunding effort on for a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border has raised millionBy Friday morning at around 11:30 a.m. ET, a GoFundMe page titled "We The People Will Fund The Wall" passed million from nearly 200,000 donors. The funds were raised in just five days — but the campaign is just at just 1 percent of its billion goal. If the current pace of donations continue, the campaign would hit its goal in May of 2020.The campaign was started by Brian Kolfage, a triple amputee veteran and outspoken supporter of President Trump. While his GoFundMe page states that he has reached out to the Trump Administration in order to "secure a point of contact where all the funds will go upon completion," the White House has not yet publicly commented on the GoFundMe Campaign.Kolfage is able to keep every donation he receives, regardless if he reaches his goal. Donations are currently being sent to his GoFundMe account, though he asks that check be made payable to "WeFund The Wall"While it is true that some federal agencies will accept donations earmarked for specific projects, it 1326

The Pentagon is slashing .8 billion in recently passed military funding to finance construction of the president's long-sought U.S.-Mexico border wall. Thursday's move by the Pentagon angered not just Democrats but also GOP defense hawks. It would cut money for National Guard units, shipbuilding accounts and 17 aircraft and transfer it to anti-drug accounts that can finance construction of new wall. The maneuver was announced in “reprogramming” documents provided to lawmakers and came in for harsh criticism by Rep. Mack Thornberry of Texas, the top Republican on the House Armed Services Committee. Democrats slammed the transfers as well, but Trump faced no consequences when making similar transfers last year. 732
