(KGTV) — A 23-year-old man is behind bars after leading San Diego Sheriff's deputies on a short pursuit in a vehicle that was reported stolen.Deputies received a broadcast from Carlsbad Police of a stolen vehicle on Sunday just after 1 p.m. in the area of Palomar Airport Rd. heading toward San Marcos. Nearby deputies began searching the area and located the vehicle unoccupied in the parking lot of a Target on Business Park Dr. in Vista.While they waited for an ASTREA helicopter and canine unit, deputies set up surveillance on the vehicle. After a few minutes, the suspected driver, identified as Dylan Kidd, returned and deputies moved in toward the vehicle, according to the Sheriff's Department (SDSO).Kidd started up the vehicle and led deputies on a four- to five-minute pursuit, during which deputies say he drove recklessly out of the parking lot and onto nearby streets. Kidd eventually left the vehicle and fled into a nearby canyon, according to the department.The vehicle, however, continued and crashed into the garage door of a home on White Sands Drive, causing some minor damage.With the ASTREA helicopter above, deputies were led to Kidd's location after about six minutes and he surrendered to deputies, SDSO said. Kidd was booked into jail and charged with felony evading, vehicle theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, shoplift/burglary, and hit and run. 1405

Scrap metal thieves are becoming so brazen, they're now now taking parts off of gas grills at Walmart in the middle of the shopping day, according to Cleveland's Environmental Crimes Task Force.Sgt. Andrew Ezzo said the crooks took nearly 100 pounds in valves and other parts from display gas grills at the Walmart located on Brookpark Road in Cleveland."The only way they found out is because they sold a couple of display models, and people had to bring them back and said, 'Where's our parts?'" said Ezzo. "They think they can take whatever they want. They think they're entitled to it."Ezzo said his task force has reported a series of thefts at major companies in all parts of the city. Two thieves were caught on surveillance video at Menyhart Plumbing on Lorain Road stealing thousands of pounds in antique home heating radiators. Owner Peter Menyhart said the task force used his surveillance video and its relationship with area scrap yards to make an arrest in less than a day."Basically anything those two guys could physically carry, they carried out of here," Menyhart said. "They didn't have any money, so they're like, 'Hey, lets go steal some scrap, and we could go drop it off at 7 a.m. at the scrap yard and get some cash.'"The scrap yard involved reported the stolen items, and police found suspects in just a few hours.Ezzo said his task force is in a battle, but the efforts of his team have reduced the number of thefts so far in 2018."In 2014, 2015 and 2016, the State of Ohio led the nation in scrap theft," Ezzo said. SAN JOSE, Calif. – A woman was caught on video intentionally coughing on a baby at a California yogurt shop after getting into an argument with the child’s mother.The San Jose Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the woman, who they call an “assault suspect.”Police say the adult female suspect was standing in line inside a Yogurtland in front of the mother and her 1-year-old child, who was in a stroller.A preliminary investigation revealed the suspect was upset the mother was not maintaining proper social distancing, so she removed her face mask, got close to the baby’s face, and coughed two to three times, according to police.Video then shows the suspect leaving the business.
