CARACAS, June 25 (Xinhua) -- Venezuela on Wednesday launched a series of celebrations to commemorate 40th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic ties with China.

Zhang, who is in charge of policy making of the energy industry in China, said his attendance at the meeting of the Energy Cooperation Committee aimed to further implement the important consensus reached by the presidents of the two countries.

The German leader said her country supports exchanges and dialogues between European Union and China, and is ready to play a constructive role in advancing EU-China relations.

The Portuguese president also called for more Chinese investment in the southern European country.

Jose Seguro said it would be conducive to in-depth exchanges and mutual learning on important issues like development strategy to enhance contact between top leaders of the PS and the CPC.
