She was bound with zip-ties, and sexually assaulted with a large object before being "lit on fire until she died.”Cell phone records show she met with Jeffery Morris the evening before. After Morris was arrested, he told police he picked up Zhao on Watkins Lake Road and they both checked into the Sherwood Motel at around 9:26 p.m.Morris told police they left the motel to buy some alcohol at a party store and returned to the motel.Morris said Zhao left the motel at midnight “and took all of her belongings including her cell phone with her.”According to the court documents, cell phone records indicate that Zhao’s cell phones did not leave until around 5 a.m. And surveillance footage near the motel and phone records show Morris left at that time and drove to the secluded park. Other evidence shows he was there about seven minutes.Days later, the police and FBI would locate Morris and his vehicle in Ypsilanti. A search found several footwear impressions, several hairs, fibers and other items with possible blood stains.Investigators also found duffle bags with Morris’ identification, a fitted bed sheet with apparent blood stains as well as a wooden baseball bat with a possible big blood stain. Those are being tested at the Oakland County Crime Lab.Police said last week the motive for the murder and the reason Morris and Zhao met are still under investigation.Early speculation was "Susie Q," as she’s known in the poker circuit, may have been killed in connection with being a professional player living in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.But now the evidence shows this was home grown deadly trouble that she faced when she met up with Morris, a convicted sex offender. NEW YORK (AP) — Getting an Amazon package delivered from the sky is closer to becoming a reality. The Federal Aviation Administration said Monday it has granted Amazon approval to deliver packages by drones. Amazon says the approval is an important step, but added that it is still testing and flying the drones. It did not say when it expected drones to make deliveries to shoppers. Last year, Amazon unveiled self-piloting drones that are fully electric, can carry 5 pounds of goods and are designed to deliver items in 30 minutes by dropping them in a backyard.The FAA said Amazon is the third drone delivery service to win flight approval. New numbers just released by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) on Monday show the number of COVID-19 cases is going up sharply among a group of children.The new numbers show children now account for 9.5 percent of all COVID-19 cases across the United States with 476,439.“Children are not immune. Children can get this disease. Some children can get very sick from this disease,” said Dr. Sally Goza, president of the AAP. “When we first started with this, we were saying children were about 2 percent of all the cases, so they’re now 9.5 percent, so we are seeing a number of children that are cases.”Since May 21 COVID-19 cases in children have increased by more than 700 percent, while the total number of cases has risen 270 percent.In the same time frame, child hospitalizations from COVID-19 have nearly tripled that of the general population, rising 356 percent compared to 122 percent.Deaths have doubled in proportion, as well, as child COVID-19 hospitalizations have risen 229 percent compared to 115 percent for all age groups.“Kids are back playing sports. Some kids are back in school,” said Dr. Goza. “So, it would make sense that children would be increasing as well.”Dr. Goza says as we resume a more normal lifestyle a rise in children is expected, but it is the quick increase in proportions that is concerning. She says it comes down to one thing doctors have been preaching for months now: reducing community spread.“The whole thing of we need to decrease the community spread of this disease,” said Dr. Goza. “That’s what [these numbers] tell me is that we have not done a good job of decreasing community spread, because it’s now spreading to our young children.”Dr. Goza says the new numbers are not worthy of panic, but it is a sobering reminder that even those deemed most resilient to this disease are at-risk and need to heed precautions just as much as everyone else.“This virus is serious. NEW YORK -- Lori Gaeta gets a cup of coffee every day at a cafe on Lexington Avenue in New York City.Last week, she got a cup coffee and started a conversation with a homeless man that changed both of their lives.Gaeta says she met the homeless man, named William, on 61st Street. It was a conservation she couldn't get out of her mind.“He was paralyzed in a broken down wheelchair. I just felt he could use a blessing,” said Gaeta.All she knew about him is he is 61 years old and his name is William, he became paralyzed and is now homeless.She noticed his wheelchair was being held together with duct tape and was falling apart. She asked him if it was alright for her to get him a new chair.Gaeta sprung into action and started an online quest asking for help posting on a site called Nextdoor. Generous New Yorkers immediately came forward offering used chairs.Then a total stranger, named Elizabeth Menegan, offered to buy William a new chair, spending over 0.“You know that saying it takes a village to raise a child? Well, this took an entire neighborhood to bless this man.
