The Supreme Court will hear arguments Tuesday on the Affordable Care Act.“If the ACA is repealed, millions of people across the country will lose access to their health care, but not only that, millions of people who have preexisting conditions will lose protections, which were put in place through the ACA that allows them to not be discriminated against from insurance companies,” said Rosemary Enobakhare, Director of HealthCareVoter.org.Texas is arguing the ACA is unconstitutional since Congress got rid of the tax penalty it carried if you didn't have insurance.Even though the high court has a new conservative judge and majority, legal experts don't think the justices will strike down the entire law.Even advocates for the ACA admit it needs to be improved, but don't want to see vulnerable populations lose coverage in the meantime.“When all the dust settles, and everything clears, and it's time to get to work, we’ve got to make sure to remind people what they ran on and we’ve got make sure that we have people fighting for folks in their lives and making sure they're prioritize health care,” said Enobakhare.Healthcare Voter would like to see Medicaid expanded in all states. They also want lower costs for prescription drugs.“In the United States, people pay 0 to 0 a viable. Folks who have diabetes need multiple vials of insulin in order to be able to manage their condition and so people are paying thousands of dollars, monthly, and this is with insurance to be able to stay alive. It’s week one of pro football, during the second game of a doubleheader Monday night and fans are packed in at Society Sports and Spirits in Denver.Despite the hometown team being three point underdogs, many people hope they just cover the spread.“What we’ve known for a long time is Americans like to bet on sport,” said Casey Clark of the American Gaming Association.Clark says more than 33 million Americans will bet on professional football this year. After a recent Supreme Court ruling, gambling on games will be a lot easier.Sports betting is now legal in 18 states plus Washington, D.C.Clark says four other states have passed bills legalizing sports betting and he expects more to follow suit for financial reasons.“About 1 million has been generated in tax revenue across those states in that short amount of time,” he said. “So, you’ve seen significant uptick in opportunity for states and counties and local jurisdiction.”One state that’s seeing immediate pay off after legalizing sports betting in May, is Colorado.“Colorado has a 10 percent tax on the wins,” said Dan Hartman, director of the Colorado Division of Gaming. Hartman predicts legal sports betting will generate millions of dollars in tax revenue, and it has already created more jobs in a few months in Colorado.“One of the operators from Australia is they’re moving their entire North American headquarters to Denver -- bringing 200 jobs,” he said.Many fans are betting on games through apps on their phones.“It’s been a challenging few months with the COVID and tax receipts are down,” said Mike Raffensperger with FanDuel the largest online real money gaming company in the US.Raffensperger is now seeing more government leaders reach out about generating extra income through gambling.“We’ve been speaking with regulators and legislators around the country and they’re looking for new sources of tax revenue and they been seeing the success,” he said.Success so financially tempting that it could lead to more states betting on legal gambling to help financially during this worldwide pandemic. 2086

Interior Department Secretary Ryan Zinke signed an order Friday morning aiming to expand access for hunters and fishers to public lands and monuments.In what is being described as an "expansive" secretarial order, Zinke's rule would ultimately allow broader access across the board to hunters and fishers on public lands managed by the Interior Department, according to the order.A section of the order also amends the national monument management plan to include or expand hunting and fishing opportunities to the "extent practicable under the law."The order cites a 2007 executive order from President George W. Bush to "facilitate the expansion and enhancement of hunting opportunities and the management of game species and their habitat." It directs agencies to to create a report and plan to streamline how best to enhance and expand access to hunting and fishing on public lands.The Interior Department oversees national parks, wildlife refuges and other federal lands.The secretarial order also aims to expand educational outreach for hunting and fishing to "under served" communities such as minorities and veterans as well as increase volunteer access to federal lands."Today's secretarial order is the latest example of how the Trump administration is actively moving to support hunting and other forms of outdoor recreation on public lands," Zinke said in a statement."Hunting and fishing is a cornerstone of the American tradition and hunters and fishers of America are the backbone of land and wildlife conservation," he said.Interior said Obama administration policies were too restrictive."Through management plans made under the previous administration, which did not appreciate access to hunting and target shooting like this administration does, access and usage has been restricted," said Interior spokeswoman Heather Swift.Zinke's rule will not have to go through a formal rule-making process.It is the second major action from Interior in the last few weeks.In August, Zinke recommended shrinking the boundaries of a handful of national monuments, but stopped short of suggesting the elimination of any federal designations following a review ordered by President Donald Trump.At Trump's direction, Zinke earlier this year launched a review of 27 national monuments, a controversial move that could undo protections for millions of acres of federal lands, as well as limits on oil and gas or other energy production.
