INDIANAPOLIS -- Jared Fogle is now asking for  million as remuneration for a “conspiracy” to rob him of his fortune he says was orchestrated by judges, the U.S. attorney’s office, FBI investigators and the attorney general of the United States.   Fogle’s latest filing was entered by the court on Monday. In it, the former Subway pitchman – now serving more than 15 years on charges of child porn and sexual conduct with a minor – alleges federal Judge Tanya Walton-Pratt, who sentenced him to prison, two members of the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals, an Illinois U.S. district court judge and both of his lawyers undertook a “scheme to defraud” Fogle by tricking him into pleading guilty to a false charge.READ | Full?Fogle?plea agreementIn addition to his wrongful imprisonment, Fogle claims he suffered at least million in damages. The suit asks the government to grant him threefold damages as remuneration in the sum of million.The claim – which purports to outline a sprawling RICO case involving fraudulent search warrants, bogus charges and ill-gotten advice from attorneys to agree to pay .4 million in restitution to Fogle’s juvenile victims (at least million of which Fogle had already paid prior to his sentencing) – is the latest attempt by Fogle to get out of the plea he entered in November 2015.Previous such attempts – an apparent “sovereign citizen” defense rejected in November, the demonstrably false claim that Judge Pratt was “biased” because of her two teenage daughters at the time of the sentencing (she had none), and the argument that he pleaded guilty to an “unconstitutional” charge of conspiracy –  have so far been unsuccessful. In addition to this most recent filing, Fogle also has two open civil cases against Pratt and the U.S. government arguing he should be released.Fogle is joined in the RICO case claim by two other defendants: James Nathan Fry and Frank Edwin Pate.Pate, a former resident of Bonham, Texas, was sentenced to 210 months in federal prison in November 2015 for wire and mail fraud in connection to a foreign currency trading scheme and ordered to pay .8 million in restitution.Fry was sentenced in October 2013 to more than 17 years in prison and to pay million in restitution for his role in a .65 billion Ponzi scheme, according to the Star Tribune in Minneapolis.Pate and Fry are asking for million and 4 million in restitution, respectively, from judges, FBI agents, assistant U.S. attorneys and IRS employees connected to their cases.In all, the three men’s combined complaint targets 34 defendants and asks for 3 million in damages to be paid to Fogle, Pate and Fry.At least part of Fogle’s motivation behind the RICO suit may have been made clear Wednesday, when he filed a motion to dismiss in his civil suit against Pratt claiming that, because he has filed a RICO suit naming her as a defendant, the entire U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana is now a “conflict of interest” forum.Fogle is currently serving his sentence at the federal correctional institute in Englewood, Colorado. It's the unofficial start of summer as swimming pools, beaches and amusement parks flood with travelers for the Memorial Day Weekend, but there is one thing that might deter travelers this year. The price of gas is at its highest levels in four years, says AAA, but the sudden increase in gas does not mean that everyone will have a more expensive trip. AAA says that airfare is down 7 percent from Memorial Day Weekend of 2017 for the top domestic routes. Rental car rates are also 11 percent lower this year. AAA affiliated hotels are also showing upwards of a 14 percent savings from last year. Overall, 41.5 million Americans are expected to travel this Memorial Day Weekend, which is up nearly 5 percent. Even with gas up 56 cents nationwide from last year, AAA expects a 4.7 percent increase in the number of travelers by car.“The highest gas prices since 2014 won’t keep travelers home this Memorial Day weekend,” said Bill Sutherland, senior vice president, AAA Travel and Publishing. “A strong economy and growing consumer confidence are giving Americans all the motivation they need to kick off what we expect to be a busy summer travel season with a Memorial Day getaway.”If traveling by car, you'll find the cheapest gas in the South and Southern Plains. The average price of gas in those states is still below .75 per gallon. INDIANAPOLIS -- An Indianapolis lawyer is accused of flashing a bus carrying a girls' basketball team on two separate occasions while driving. Norwell High School girls’ basketball coach Eric Thornton said he was driving the girls to a tournament in June when a man pulled up beside their bus on I-70 near the airport and exposed himself. “He knew it was a school bus,” said Thornton. “(He) knew it was high school aged females on the bus.”The man, who police have identified as Raymond Fairchild, then exited the highway before the team could get the license plate on his Honda CRV. “The girls were horrified and just very disturbed,” said Thornton. In an attempt to identify the alleged flasher, Thornton posted a photo taken moments before the incident on social media. That post made its way to Union City where a second girls’ basketball team reported a similar incident last February – from what appeared to be the same man. “Once we found out that he’d done it before it was obvious this was a pattern,” said Thornton. It didn’t take long before someone on Facebook recognized that man as Fairchild and contacted investigators. The 71-year-old is listed as having a law office in downtown Indianapolis. “He should never be allowed to practice law again in my opinion,” said Thornton. “He should be put away for a time.”Fairchild now faces six counts of public nudity and indecency charges. His first court appearance is set for October 26. “It’s a crime against innocent, na?ve girls who just saw abnormal behavior and had no idea what would happen next,” said Thornton. “He needs to be severely punished for his behavior.”  1669

INDIANAPOLIS — A new book you're sure to want to add to your collection is coming out next spring — staring none other than the Bunny of the United States (BOTUS). The second family's bunny, Marlon Bundo, is the focus of the book written by VP Mike Pence's middle child, Charlotte, and illustrated by her mother, Karen Pence. The announcement was made on the "Marlon Bundo" official Instagram account (@marlonbundo) Friday afternoon. "In the book, I follow Grampa around all day, as a BOTUS should, while he goes about his duties as Vice President," the announcement says. The book is set to be released March 19, 2018.  A portion of the proceeds from the book will go to charity.  749
