A public health expert says it depends on what precautions your gym is taking.“The fact is that the gyms don't spread disease,” said Dr. Jay Wolfson, a public health professor at the University of South Florida. “The people within them who are coming into the gym and not cleaning up after themselves and are not maintaining social distances, and the gym staff, if they're not being attentive and conscientious in terms of disinfecting, are the ones who are aiding a abetting the spread of the disease.”There's evidence showing coronavirus can be spread through aerosol and droplets. Those droplets can float in the air long enough to be inhaled. And they could travel more aggressively when we’re working out.“Just as when you yell and scream, and you'll be sweating, and you'll be hyperventilating sometimes, so those droplet nuclei are going to come out, which means the larger particles are going to rest on some of the equipment as well as in the air,” said Wolfson.Wolfson says it may be hard to monitor gyms across the country because the rules in certain cities and states are different. And it's hard to know if a case is tied to a gym.A Norwegian university looked at whether workout facilities played a role in the spread. GOLETA, Calif. (KGTV) - A rare sea creature that’s not supposed to live in the Northern Hemisphere surprised scientists by washing ashore in Goleta last week. The Mola tecta, more commonly known as the hoodwinker sunfish, is a rare species first identified in 2017, according to experts at University of California, Santa Barbara. UCSB reported the fish at Sands Beach in the university's Coal Oil Point Natural Reserve, the Associated Press reported. An intern alerted a reserve staffer who initially thought it was a type of local sunfish. “This is certainly the most remarkable organism I have seen wash up on the beach in my four years at the reserve,” said Jessica Nielsen, a conservation specialist at Coal Oil Point on the UCSB website. “It really was exciting to collect the photos and samples knowing that it could potentially be such an extraordinary sighting.” Scientists have not yet determine how the fish died. 932

HONG KONG — Hong Kong Disneyland Park is closing temporarily following the city’s decision to ban public gatherings of more than four people because of the coronavirus pandemic. Disney officials posted on the resort’s website that the Hong Kong park was closing Wednesday until further notice. The resort’s hotels will remain open with adjusted levels of service. Hong Kong’s leader, Carrie Lam, announced new coronavirus-related restrictions Monday and she urged the private sector to put in place work-from-home arrangements for employees. The Hong Kong park and Shanghai Disneyland closed in January because of the virus. Shanghai Disneyland reopened in May, as did the Hong Kong park last month. 707
