And now, we can add COVID-19 to that list of things that postal workers press through.Bezerra is one of almost half a million mail carriers for the USPS, and for the last eight of those years, she’s had the same route just north of Denver, Colorado."My max is usually six years and then I’m like, 'Eh, it’s time to move on and learn a different area.' Which is really hard, because you get close to your customers," said Bezerra.But because of COVID-19, the part of her job she loves the most has now changed."My customers, being outside, being able to involve yourself with other people, giving customer service to a wide variety of people," said Bezerra. "I don’t see near as many people. Your customers, if they do come out, it’s very rare anymore."People are ordering things now more than ever."A lot of people are not going out to stores purchasing. But every time he’d get up, he’d pass out and hit his head," said Bezerra.The ER doctors said he wouldn’t have made it 24 hours."I have five more years, and I have really bonded with these people out here. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - An Otay Mesa father and dog owner says he did a double-take after he says surveillance video revealed who was hurting his dog.Wherever Pupa the poodle mix goes, little Alfonso Jr., 3, and Regina, 1, usually follow. Their father, Alfonso Galindo, calls the 7-year-old rescue a beloved member of the family, which is why his recent discovery was so tough to swallow."It's heartbreaking," said Galindo.It all started when the strange stains that have been appearing for months appeared again last week in the patio of his home on Agosto Street. He checked his recently installed cameras and couldn't believe what he saw."I'm at a loss for words," said Galindo.Just after 11 a.m. last Tuesday, surveillance video shows a postal carrier walking up to Galindo's mailbox and past the metal front gate. Behind the gate is Pupa, and as the mail carrier places the mail in the mailbox, a cylindrical object is seen in his left hand. At the same time, from another camera, Pupa is seen behind the gate beginning to convulse for several minutes."The dog is withering in pain ... makes me sick to my stomach," said Galindo.Galindo said he searched through his videos -- about a month's worth --- and found nine similar incidents where his dog convulses after the postal carrier walks by. Galindo believes the mail carrier was casually and quickly spraying the pepper spray at Pupa's face."It's a total betrayal of the trust. You would think the Postal Service is somebody you can trust," said Galindo.Galindo went through the last few months in his mind. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – A sixth robbery suspect was taken into custody following an hours-long SWAT standoff in City Heights Friday afternoon. Police arrived to arrest several suspects on the 3600 block of University Avenue around 11 a.m. Several people were detained, but at least one of the suspects refused to surrender, Sgt. Michael Stirk said. RELATED: Check traffic in your areaUniversity Avenue was shut down for several hours in both directions between 36th Street and Cherokee Avenue due to police activity. Just after 5 p.m., a flash bang could be heard going off near the building. Just before 6:30 p.m. Friday, San Diego Police said all the suspects had been "peacefully taken into custody." The department also said it was working to clear its vehicles out of the area. Captain Anthony Dupree confirmed the suspects were being investigated for a string of about 20 robberies throughout the mid-city region, extending into La Mesa and El Cajon as well.
