(KGTV) -- The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department is bringing attention to a 51-year-old unsolved murder.On May 1, 1967, 14-year-old Nikki Benedict was stabbed and left to die while walking home from her friend’s house in Poway.The family has gone 51-years without knowing what happened to Nikki. Both of her parents died without answers.Tuesday, one of her three surviving sisters was there with detectives bringing the case back up, hoping anyone with helpful information will come forward.An 11-year-old boy found Nikki suffering at 6:30 in the evening on the tragic day. Deputies and medics tried to save Nikki’s life, but she died after arriving at the hospital.When the crime happened, witnesses reported seeing a young man running from the scene. Investigators say almost every teenage boy in Poway was interviewed at the time but detectives found no connection.51-years later no one has yet been arrested for Nikki’s murder. POWAY, Calif. (KGTV) - Poway residents gathered Monday night to rally against an anti-Semitic hate crime during Hanukkah. Someone painted a swastika on the side of a Jewish family’s home and poured some type of chemical on their car Sunday night. Shawn Seibert lives in the house with his mother. He says he heard noises around 11:20 p.m. and went outside, only to see two people away. That’s when he noticed the swastika on the side of their house and the damage to his car. Sunday night was the start of Hanukkah.“When you see it, it just shakes you down to your core,” Seibert said. “How can someone do something like that to someone they don’t know?” The community came together Monday to show their support for the Seiberts. Several dozen people gathered at the corner of Poway and Community Roads with signs preaching against hate, as drivers honked their horns in support of the rally. PORT RICHEY, Fla. — Port Richey, Florida Mayor Dale Massad and his longtime girlfriend Caj Joseph were arrested Aug. 23 on domestic violence charges. Massad was arrested after deputies say he grabbed Joseph and pushed her to the ground.He was charged with a misdemeanor count of domestic battery which required him to spend the night in jail before his first court hearing Friday. In July, police went to Massad's house four dozen times, but he had never been charged with a crime.At the time, he blamed police activity on his girlfriends.“You look in there, see if I made any calls,” he said, pointing to police reports.Joseph, who was arrested Thursday for felony battery of a person over the age of 65, had been charged half a dozen other times for battery, violating protection orders and other crimes allegedly committed at Massad's home.“I'm a felon and I went back there and I don't want to be there,” Joseph told the judge.She also said she was unable to post a 0 bond to get out of jail.“I don't know how to get out of here. I don't have anyone I know.
