A court in Saudi Arabia on Monday sentenced five people to death for the killing of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi, who was murdered in the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul last year by a team of Saudi agents.The verdicts were read by Shaalan al-Shaalan, a spokesperson from the attorney general's office, and broadcast on Saudi Arabia's state-run Al-Ekhbariya TV.No names were given for those found guilty. A bill that would ban the most common abortion method used in the second trimester of pregnancy was signed into law Friday by Ohio Gov. John Kasich.Senate Bill 145 prohibits the dilation and evacuation (D&E) procedure, in which the cervix is dilated and the contents of the uterus extracted. Though there is no exception in the law in cases of rape or incest, there is one if the mother's life is at risk.Any abortion provider who defies this law could face fourth-degree felony charges, including prison time and fines.The Republican governor's decision to sign off on this legislation sparked immediate backlash from abortion rights advocates.Kasich, who has signed more than 20 laws restricting abortion access in his eight years in office, has "again let the people of Ohio down by using extreme legislation to turn medical decision-making into political ideology," said Iris Harvey, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Advocates of Ohio, in a written statement."Patients, and the medical providers who serve them, rely on the overwhelming medical evidence that shows abortion is one of the safest medical procedures," she continued. A 3-year-old boy died after falling into a restaurant grease trap Monday morning in Rochester, New York, police said.Rochester Police Department Investigator Francis Camp said they believe the boy fell through a plastic lid that gave way and into the grease trap embedded in the ground outside a Tim Hortons restaurant.The grease trap was covered with a green plastic lid -- much like a manhole cover -- that helped it blend into the surrounding grass, he said."The lid was on there, it looks like the child ran across it and it popped open and he fell into the trap," he said.The grease trap is 2-and-a-half feet in diameter, according to police.Camp said a witness found the child in the grease trap minutes after he was reported missing. The witness saw the boy and pulled him from the trap and started administering CPR, Camp said. The boy's name has not been released.Attempts were made to revive the boy but they were unsuccessful, according to Camp."We have a horrifying episode here that happened today," he said.
