SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A 79-year-old woman struck while crossing a Mira Mesa intersection is expected to recover from her injuries, San Diego Police said Monday. The woman was walking north in the crosswalk of Mira Mesa Boulevard and Black Mountain Road about 5 a.m. when she was struck by a male driver, police said. Officers reported the woman suffered a fractured pelvis, open fracture to the right tibia, and head injuries. She was taken to the hospital. The crash shattered the driver’s windshield. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A 21-year-old man was hospitalized Monday after he was stabbed in the back and arm by a home intruder in the Oak Park neighborhood, police said.It happened around 11:55 p.m. Sunday at a home on Fauna Drive, located off College Grove Drive just northwest of state Route 94, San Diego police Officer John Buttle said.The victim went downstairs to get some milk for his daughter and found a man standing in his kitchen, Buttle said.A struggle ensued and the victim was stabbed in the back and the right arm before his assailant fled, the officer said.The victim's wife drove him to a hospital for treatment of his injuries, which were not believed to be life-threatening, Buttle said.No detailed suspect descriptions were immediately available.Detectives with the San Diego Police Department's southeastern division were investigating the stabbing. 872

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A 56-year-old reportedly stabbed his neighbor after the man tried to shoot him with what he believed to be a rifle late Friday night, police say.According to police, the incident happened on the 4400 block of Bermuda Avenue around 10:30 p.m. after a 56-year-old walked to his neighbor’s house to tell him there was water flowing into his yard.When the neighbor, a 50-year-old man, answered the door he was armed with what appeared to be a rifle but later turned out to be a BB gun. As the man shot the gun, his neighbor was able to bush the barrel of the weapon up to avoid being shot.As the man tried to reload, his neighbor pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed his neighbor several times “because he thought he was going to get shot,” police said.Both men returned to their homes and called police. The stabbing victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. It’s unclear if any arrests will be made in the case. 965
