WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court will allow Pennsylvania to count ballots received up to three days after the election, rejecting a Republican plea. The justices divided 4-4 Monday, an outcome that upholds a state Supreme Court ruling that allowed election officials to receive and count ballots until Nov. 6, even if they don't have a clear postmark. According to the Associated Press, Chief Justice John Roberts, along with Justices Stephen G. Breyer, Sonia Sotomayor, and Elena Kagan, rejected Pennsylvania Republicans’ call for the court to block the state court ruling.Justices Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Clarence Thomas wanted the state to stop accepting absentee ballots on Nov. 3, the AP reported.Republicans, including President Donald Trump's campaign, have opposed such an extension, arguing that it violates a federal law that sets Election Day as the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November and that such a decision constitutionally belongs to lawmakers, not the courts. 1025

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Inside one Washington D.C. bicycle repair shop is a cacophony of sounds, where both the bicycles and employees get a chance they may not have otherwise.“Working with your hands is still very important,” said Keith Jackson, operations manager at Gearin’ Up Bicycles. The nonprofit trains Black teens about everything it takes to run a bike shop.“For a lot of the young Black youth, this is really their only opportunity to get their feet wet in a bicycle business,” Jackson said. It’s an opportunity Daiquan Medley knows firsthand.“I’ve been here a long time now,” he said.Medley started coming to Gearin’ Up Bicycles several years ago, eventually working his way up to youth shop manager. It is quite a journey for someone who didn’t take to bicycling right away.“I couldn’t ride at first,” he said.Eventually, though, Medley picked it up and now envisions a future full of bicycles.“I would still have a full-service bike shop,” Medley said, “but then also have programs within it to actually still be able to teach people and they can learn how to maintain their bike on their own.”It’s an inspiration drawn from Gearin’ Up Bicycles, which helps young people build their own bicycles to keep and teaches them how to fix donated bikes that otherwise may have ended up in a landfill.“Our main goal obviously is workforce development, but I hope they get a sense of confidence and empowerment that they can do any job once they leave here,” said Lauren Shutler, the organization’s outreach coordinator. The repaired bicycles are then resold during Saturday sales, which have grown increasingly popular during the pandemic’s global bicycle shortage.“Our general sales are up 60%,” Jackson said. “Our bicycle sales are up 330% over last year.”The money from the sales then goes back into the nonprofit, though they say there’s always room for more.“As a nonprofit, we need people to come in and support us in that way,” Shutler said. It’s all part of the program to keep these wheels, and lives, in motion.“We've got them,” Jackson said. For more information on Gearin’ Up Bicycles and how you can help, click here. 2135

We all have feelings. Some good. Some bad. But as adults and professionals, we really have to manage our emotions. Now, a company in Nashville is offering an experience dedicated to helping you deal. It's called Bash-ville. Owner Gena Lea said her "rage room" is the perfect way to let off some steam. "They tell you to hit a pillow. Some people smash their phones. Come here, break my stuff instead," she said. "We do bachelorette parties and divorce parties so keep our card just in case."Bashers can customize their experience."We have axes, we have a rolling pins, baseball bats, hammers," she said. So, pick your poison: Choose breakables, and your favorite song. They provide the gloves and goggles. You provide the anger. Once you've run out of things to bash and smash and destroy, hopefully you'll leave your rage inside the room where it belongs."They come in the door and they're hesitant, a little scared. When they leave they're smiling, they're happy. It's a release," she said. If you have anger issues go seek professional help. Bash-ville is for fun and decompression from every day stressors! WASHINGTON, D.C. (KGTV) -- President Donald Trump Tuesday night delivered a prime-time address to the nation on border security. All major networks, including ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and Fox News decided to carry the address. The battle over border security and a border wall has led to a partial government shutdown that has, as of Tuesday, lasted 18 days. In comparison, the longest government shutdown was under former President Bill Clinton and lasted 21 days. President Donald Trump said during the address that there is a "growing humanitarian and security crisis" at the U.S.-Mexico border, though crossings have fallen in recent years.RELATED: What the border looks like now, as President Trump asks for wall fundingThe President added that all Americans are hurt by uncontrolled illegal immigration. He says it strains public resources and drives down jobs and wages. The President says among those hit hardest by illegal immigration are African-Americans and Hispanics. The President is trying to convince Americans that the flow of immigrants into the U.S. illegally at the southern border is a crisis. He asserts that the government remains shut down because Democrats won't fund border security.RELATED: San Diego lawmakers respond to Trump's border wall commentsFollowing his address, Democrats Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer stood in a long hallway behind a podium, reinforcing their talking points about misinformation spread by the President. Both Pelosi and Schumer didn't seem to be swayed on whether or not they'd compromise and reopen the government, ensuring that the standoff between Trump and Democrats continues. 1638
