(KGTV) — The Del Mar Fairgrounds may face increased pressure to stop the Crossroads of the West gun show from selling so-called 'ghost gun' kits at its show starting later this month.The Del Mar City Council on Monday will consider passing a resolution recommending the Del Mar Fairgrounds ask the show to prohibit its vendors from selling unregulated firearm parts, components and gun-build kids. The items do not have serial numbers and can be purchased at the show without a background check or registration.The Crossroads of the West Gun Show, which begins March 14, is likely in its final year at the state-owned fairgrounds. But Danielle Jaymes, who heads sales at Poway Weapons and Gear range, said people who want to break the law will, no matter what. "If they aren't legally allowed to buy a gun in California and they go across state lines and buy an unfinished frame and then build up themselves, they're going to do it," she said. DENVER, Colo. — When a Denver area woman received a voicemail from the Tri-County Health Department letting her know test results were in, she was puzzled because she did not have any recent medical tests. She called back and said an employee for the health department told her that she had tested positive for COVID-19. She replied that she had never been tested."Well, it definitely freaked me out, you know, because ... they had all of my personal information and then this positive test result," said Jessica.We're only using Jessica's first name because she's worried her personal information was compromised.“They knew my phone number, they knew my address, they knew my first and last name, but they had the birthday wrong," she said.She said the health department employee told her the test was administered at a NextCare facility. Jessica said she's been to the NextCare by her house before but it was sometime last year."There was nothing they could tell m — they couldn’t tell me which NextCare it was because that was confidential information and that basically there’s nothing they can do for me and that’s where we’re at now," said Jessica.KMGH reached out to the Tri-County Health Department. A spokesperson said NextCare made a COVID reporting error and said Jessica was never actually tested. Democrats plan to force a vote Wednesday morning on a bill related to health care coverage of pre-existing conditions and the size and scope of insurance plans, the latest action from the minority party's push to focus on the issue of health care going into the midterms.Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin is using the Congressional Review Act to force a vote to overturn the Trump administration rule to expand short-term insurance plans. Forty-nine Democratic senators have said they will support the resolution and they would need two additional Republican votes to reach the fifty-one-vote threshold for the measure to pass, though the GOP-controlled House would likely not act on the legislation. That makes the series of events a largely symbolic vote aimed at forcing moderate Republicans to possibly take a politically difficult vote on the record.Short-term health plans don't have to adhere to the Affordable Care Act's regulations that protect people with pre-existing conditions. DETROIT — "They strictly thought their so-called white privilege was gonna work this time and it didn't," said Marc Peeples who was acquitted in a directed verdict in a case where three women, who are white, accused Peeples, who is black, of stalking them.The women repeatedly called Detroit Police on Peeples, an urban farmer, who said he wanted to grow a garden in his old neighborhood in the area of 8 Mile and John R on the city's east side. In the beginning, Peeples said one of the women donated soil to his project, but then he and his attorney say it became about power, race and false allegations."These women were clearly lying," said Peeples who was shocked when Detroit Police arrested him after prosecutors charged him with three misdemeanor counts of stalking.This was a case of "gardening while black" said defense attorney Robert Burton-Harris, who represented Peeples at trial.Harris said this is similar to other cases around the country where "you have people calling the police on, mostly,?African-Americans for doing very mundane things.""I wasn't doing anything but planting a seed to help my community grow," said Peeples. 36th District Court Judge E.
