MURRIETA, Calif. (KGTV) -- One second she was getting the all-clear to go into the home, and the next the walls crumbled around her. A mother trapped inside when a Murrieta home when it exploded says there’s only one reason she made it out alive. "I just saw everything crashing down around me, and I thought I was dead, I thought that was it,” said Alexis Haaland, who was inside home when it blew up. Looking at the house Tuesday, Haaland says she’s still in shock she walked away from the explosion with only a few scratches. "I just stood still and I covered my head and I was screaming oh my god, just hoping nothing hit me."Haaland was having solar panels installed at the home she lived in with her family for about a month. She says the solar company told her they hit a gas line and that she should probably leave. She took her two kids and put them outside with her mother and little brother in their van. Haaland says a firefighter told her she could go back in and get her wallet and diaper bag. That’s when the home exploded. "I just knew I had to get out, and I ran to my mom and my kids and my mom just looked at me and was like how did you get out of there."Haaland says she got out through a window that was shattered in the blast. She says she was standing by a wall, the only one left standing after the home exploded. "I'm really shook up still, having a couple panic attacks and stuff, but I'm alive, and that's all that really matters."Haaland says she’s thankful that her kids were outside the home. She says the moments after the explosion were tough, adding that her thoughts are with the man killed in the explosion and those who were injured. "There wasn't much sleep last night. (KGTV) — A police pursuit ended in a violent crash Wednesday, after a suspect hit two cars and injured a woman.National City Police said a car was stolen in Chula Vista overnight after the owner left it running. That car was found hours later by a National City school resource officer who detected it nearby on his lowjack system.The resource officer reported the stolen vehicle to police, leading to a brief pursuit with the suspect.The suspect made a sharp turn at Highland Ave. and 6th St., crashing into one car and sending that car into a second vehicle.A woman in the first vehicle that was hit was injured. She was taken to Sharp Chula Vista with unknown injuries.The crash ended right in front of a sign spinner working at the corner."All of a sudden I see they're chasing the car down this corner. He came this way, impacted that truck over there," the witness told 10News. "I was in shock the whole time. My jaw was dropped. I was scared, like, 'oh man I could've died."Police said the suspect was apprehended at the scene. Police added they found possible narcotics in the vehicle and believe the suspect may have threw something out of the vehicle during the chase. 1208

(KGTV) — Police arrested a 28-year-old Texas resident Thursday in connection with a motel fire and stabbing several days earlier.Police said Jeremiah Dayvon King was arrested after a woman was found stabbed several times outside of a burning motel room just before 3 a.m. Sunday. The fire occurred at the Roadway Inn Motel in the 600 block of Roosevelt Ave. Several guests pulled an unconscious woman from the woman and tried to put out the flames before police arrived. The woman was taken to a nearby hospital with burns and multiple stab wounds. She was in stable condition on Thursday.Thursday, King was seen walking in the 300 block of Oxford Street in Chula Vista, when he was approached by officers and fled.
