SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Ralphs grocery stores are extending their hours to help seniors and provide greater flexibility for the general public, according to Director of Corporate Affairs John Votava.All stores will open at 6 a.m. - 7:30 a.m. for shoppers 60 years and older. "They're the most vulnerable population out there today, so we want to make sure they have time to come into our stores and shop uninhibited," Votava said.Locations will remain open to the public until at least 10 p.m., some will stay open later.Ralphs is also offering free pharmacy delivery for most locations and free pickup service for most grocery orders. Families took advantage of the pickup service Sunday at the Ralphs in Mission Valley. "I think it's going to make people feel comfortable shopping in a different way. If you can order online or call it in for sure," Tim Earp said through a mask.Votava said they're working on other safety features to protect customers and their employees. Plexiglass will be installed next week at checkout counters, and decals are already on the floor to encourage social distancing at checkout.Votava also said employees are allowed to wear masks and gloves while they work.He does have one request for anyone in the store, "if you see a senior who is shopping throughout the day, please let them cut to the front of the line so they can get in and out of the store safely."Votava said this is the new normal for now, and the store hours will reflect that indefinitely. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Police are searching for a man who reportedly tried to stop a woman from leaving a locker room at a clinical training facility.According to police, the man entered the women’s locker room at the UCSD Clinical Training Facility around 11:15 a.m. on August 20.Police say the man walked in as the victim was using the restroom. The woman tried to leave, but the suspect blocked her, asking “don’t you want this,” gesturing to his body, police say.The man then left the bathroom before walking back inside and blocking the victim’s exit once again. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego Lifeguards and firefighters responded to Blacks Beach on Sunday to rescue an injured paraglider from a ravine.The 27-year-old woman, who is a pilot, was teaching an advanced training course for paragliding when she lost lift and her parachute collapse, according to lifeguards.Witnesses told lifeguards that the woman tried to brace her impact with her legs as she landed into a ravine next to a popular trail called "Citizens Trail."Lifeguards say the woman was far from the trail when she landed and San Diego Fire-Rescue was called to perform a technical rescue to lift her up the trail.The pilot was taken to a nearby hospital, though the extent of her injuries was not clear, lifeguards said. 734

The new report looked at 182 cities around the United States and ranked them based on rental affordability and quality of life. According to the report, San Diego is the 177th least affordable place to rent out of the 182 cities. Only five cities in the U.S., most of them in California, are less affordable than San Diego. Those cities are Santa Ana, Santa Rosa, Bridgeport, Connecticut, Oceanside, California and Hialeah, Florida. However, when it comes to quality of life, San Diego placed 2nd, only topped by Scottsdale, Arizona. Overall, America’s Finest City placed 44th on the list. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego Police are searching for a gunman after one person was shot and injured in the Logan Heights area on Sunday.Police said a 24-year-old man was sitting on his porch at 2248 Ocean View Blvd. when a vehicle drove up. A suspect exited the passenger side of the vehicle and fire one shot, hitting the victim in the buttocks.The suspect got back in the vehicle and fled the scene.The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.SDPD officers are investigating the shooting. 532
