WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - They did it again! The Alba family in Williamsville, New York, are expecting their fourth baby and announced it the way they know best: with a catchy tune, funny lyrics, and an entertaining video.“You know we love to smile and make people happy," Danielle Alba told 7 Eyewitness News. The music video, set to the tune of "You're Welcome" from the Disney film Moana, hilariously describes how COVID-19 played a role in bringing their newest bundle of joy into the world."I canceled my vasectomy because of COVID-19," Sam sings on his backyard pool diving board. "I guess we have a souvenir from quarantine."This is Danielle and Sam's second music video. Their first video in 2017 welcomed their son Isaac with a parody of the song "Closer" by The Chainsmokers, which quickly racked up 11,000 views on YouTube.Their newest addition to their repertoire, which features their three children Emily, Rowan, and Isaac, is already becoming a sensation too. In just three days, the video had more than 2,000 views on Facebook.“Anytime somebody comments, 'this just made my day, it’s so wonderful,' it really makes us very happy. And especially right now, everyone can use a little happiness,” said Danielle. This story was first reported by Ashley Rowe at WKBW in Buffalo, New York. 1301
When the Trump administration first asked the Pentagon to send troops to the southern border, they wanted them to perform emergency law enforcement functions, CNN has learned. The Pentagon said no.According to two defense official familiar with the request, the Department of Homeland Security asked that the Pentagon provide a reserve force that could be called upon to provide "crowd and traffic control" and safeguard Customs and Border Protection personnel at the border to counter a group of Central American migrants walking to the U.S. border to request asylum. The Pentagon rejected the request on October 26, according to one of the officials, even as it signed off on providing DHS with air and logistics support, medical personnel and engineers. The request was turned down because the Department of Defense felt that active duty troops do not have the authority to conduct that type of mission unless they are granted additional authorities by the President.Defense officials have repeatedly emphasized the troops at the border are there to support civil authorities and that they are not expected to come into any contact with migrants. 1154

Kamala Harris to be his running mate.Harris tweeted the video out Wednesday morning, a day after it was announced that she would join the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee on the ballot as the party’s vice presidential nominee. We are in a battle for the soul of this nation. But together, it's a battle we can win.@JoeBiden—I'm ready to get to work. pic.twitter.com/3PJcUTYBGU— Kamala Harris (@KamalaHarris) August 12, 2020 In the video, dated Tuesday, Aug. 11, Biden asked Harris over video chat if she’s “ready to go to work.”“Oh my God. I’m so ready to go to work,” Harris responds.Harris then goes on to talk a little bit about her background as a Black woman who became a lawyer to fix a broken justice system, her time as the attorney general of California, and her work as a U.S. senator representing The Golden State. The senator explains why she’s joining Biden in the “battle for the soul of this nation.”Lastly, the video cuts back to Harris speaking with Biden over the computer.Biden asks, “First of all, is the answer yes?”She responds, “The answer is absolutely yes, Joe. That’s the kind of opponent everyone dreams of!”Trump also released an attack ad when Biden made his VP announcement Tuesday. With New Year's Eve right around the corner, a new San Diego company says it can deliver the cure to a hangover right to your front door. But the cost-benefit of the service is up for debate. The company, called CureDash, is an app on the iPhone and GooglePlay stores. It connects San Diegans to providers that offer house calls with licensed nurses who administer an I.V. with a saline-based solution to help rehydrate. They promise to arrive within an hour. "Me and my co-founder both got it and we felt the results within minutes," said Emil Juboori, who co-founded CureDash. "You can request our service through our app. You'll have a short video call with our doctor, you'll do a quick assessment and then we dispatch a nurse to your location."Juboori said the nurses do check patients vitals and ask them health questions once they arrive at their homes. CureDash costs 5 and does not take insurance. "I wouldn't consider this to be effective medical therapy," said Dr. Shawn Evans, an emergency room physician at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla. "My strong preference is if you think you need somebody coming out to your house to put a needle into your arm to give you massive resuscitative fluids, ultimately you should be in front of a qualified medical professional and making sure you don't have something more significant."Evans said an I.V. can make you feel better in the short term, but you will urinate a good portion of the extra fluids within an hour. Evans said a trip to urgent care is likely more affordable and that he remains concerned about at-home services like these. Evans said an affordable way to rehydrate is to mix:Six teaspoons of sugarA half teaspoon of saltFour cups of warm waterEvans said to drink a mouthful every five minutes and it will stay in your system. 1814
