If you’re looking for the ultimate piece of sports memorabilia, you may be in luck. But it may cost you.Christie’s will launch an auction next week, which include a pair of game-worn sneakers worn by his “Airness” Michael Jordan. Some of the proceeds from the auction will go to the NAACP’s Legal Defense Fund. The highlight of the auction is expected to be a pair of game-worn sneakers from Jordan’s rookie season. The auction house projects that the sneakers will sell for between 0,000 and 0,000. The pair is one of 11 items from Jordan’s playing days up for auction. Then known as “Nike Air Ship,” Jordan wore these shoes, sized 13 for his right foot and sized 13.5 for his left, were used for a few games early in the 1984-85 season. These shoes were the prototype for the original Air Jordans released to the public after his rookie season.Another pair of shoes up for auction, which are expected to sell for more than ,000, were worn by Jordan during the 1992 Olympics as a member of the Dream Team. These are a pair of Jordan 7s that Jordan wore during the Gold Medal game. The shoes were gifted by Jordan to a receptionist at the Ambassador Hotel in Barcelona. The shoes were given to the receptionist as a show of gratitude after the Dream Team’s stay there during the 1992 Olympics.“The pieces we’ve put together for this auction are truly unique, and will have deep resonance for Jordan fans, sneaker connoisseurs and pop culture collectors alike. Additionally, we are pleased to be able to donate proceeds from one of the sale’s most exciting highlights to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund,” John McPheters, Co-Founder and Co-CEO, Stadium Goods, said. In 2020, buying or selling a home has become quite tricky. Experts in the real estate industry are seeing a new trend: purchasing homes without ever stepping foot in them. "We've found ourselves in a really, really interesting situation right now with coronavirus. And also, dealing with a super low inventory across the country," said David Lewis, a realtor in the Atlanta area. Lewis says for those who are relocating, COVID-19 wariness may prevent potential buyers from seeing a property in person. Plus, traveling can be difficult right now."A lot of times, some of them we’re videoing the home for them and some of them are just looking at the pictures and submitting blind offers and just hoping, trusting us to give them a little bit of guidance and also making sure the inspections and things are in line to offer that level of protection," said Lewis.Experts say, when buying virtually, a good home inspection is a must. "It should catch most everything. Now remember, a home inspection is a visual inspection. We’re not allowed to take siding off a house, we see trim damage then that's what we see. We can’t take a look between that wall," said Donny Williams, the Director of Business Development and Marketing for All Atlanta AmeriSpec.Overall, he doesn't recommend buying a home without going inside it first, but he and many other inspectors at his company are seeing it more often now. "I was actually surprised the number of times it actually happened. The guys could remember seven to 15 times each. Times that by 18 guys and that's a lot," said Williams. Before the pandemic, Williams says he rarely would see people purchase homes sight unseen. But as long as contracting the coronavirus is a concern, home buying virtually could be here to stay. Just know that if you are thinking of buying a home this way, there are things a realtor won't be able to fully give their opinions on, such as the neighborhood."That's something that is always largely on the purchaser. There’s several laws and regulations around what a real estate professional can share and information they can give on a neighborhood. So, a lot of times that's always up to the consumer, anyways, right, to get a good feel for the neighborhood or understand the dynamics or school or surrounding area," said Lewis.Overall, make sure before you swipe right to buy a home, meet it first, if at all possible. Having a realtor and inspector you trust is key. Though, what they won't be able to help you with is if the house feels like your home. 2535

Hurricane Hunters have been flying in and out of Hurricane Delta continuously for days, getting a close-up look as the hurricane has re- intensified.Delta regained some of its previous fury. The hurricane, which was once a Category 4 before striking Mexico, dropped to a Category 1 on Wednesday. As the storm is set to strike the Louisiana coast on Friday, Delta has re-intensified into a Category 3 hurricane with top winds of 115 mph.As of Thursday evening, the hunters found that Delta had a 30-mile wide eye. Getting such detailed data from inside the hurricane can give forecasters a sense of the impact a hurricane will produce. There are two Air Force Reserve groups that fly into hurricanes to send back data to the National Hurricane Center. In total, the Air Force Reserve utilizes 20 WC-130J aircraft that are equipped with palletized meteorological data-gathering instruments.According to the Hurricane Hunters, “The navigator keeps track of the aircraft's position and movement and monitors radar to avoid tornadic activity. The flight meteorologist acts as flight director and observes and records meteorological data at flight level using a computer that encodes weather data every 30 seconds. The weather reconnaissance loadmaster collects and records vertical meteorological data using a parachute-borne sensor known as a dropsonde. It measures and encodes weather data down to the ocean surface.”The following videos were provided by Jemery DeHart on board one of the flights passing through the hurricane: 1530
