(AP) — The Saudi student who fatally shot three people at a U.S. naval base in Florida hosted a dinner party earlier in the week where he and three others watched videos of mass shootings, a U.S. official told The Associated Press on Saturday.One of the three students who attended the dinner party videotaped outside the building while the shooting was taking place at Naval Air Station Pensacola on Friday, said the U.S. official, who spoke on condition of anonymity after being briefed by federal authorities. Two other Saudi students watched from a car, the official said.The official said 10 Saudi students were being held on the base Saturday while several others were unaccounted for.U.S. officials had previously told the AP they were investigating possible links to terrorism.The student opened fire in a classroom at the base Friday morning, killing three people.A U.S. official who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity on Friday identified the shooter as Mohammed Saeed Alshamrani. The official wasn’t authorized to discuss the matter publicly. The official also said the FBI was examining social media posts and investigating whether he acted alone or was connected to any broader group.The assault, which prompted a massive law enforcement response and base lockdown, ended when a sheriff’s deputy killed the attacker. Police in Bismarck, North Dakota, want to put AR-15 rifles in some schools so school resource officers can respond more quickly in the event of an active shooter.Police asked for almost ,000 in their 2019 budget request to buy the rifles, heavy body armor and bleeding control kits for the city's nine high schools and middle schools, Bismarck Police Chief Dave Draovitch told CNN.The money will also be used to buy a safe at each school to keep the equipment away from students, teachers and staff."The SROs (school resource officers) will be the only ones who have access to this equipment," he said.The cost would be split with the school system."Hopefully we never find ourselves in a situation of an active shooter. But if we do, we really want to make sure that our SRO's are equipped with the tools that they need to do their job effectively," Bismarck Public Schools safety coordinator Becky LaBella told CNN affiliate KFYR.Draovitch said Bismarck school resource officers are police officers and are trained to respond immediately to stop an active shooting."Whatever they have to do to stop that threat, that's what we expect our officers to do," Draovitch said.They keep AR-15s and the other emergency equipment in their vehicles, but that's not as useful if there's an active shooting situation inside the building."If something happens they're not going to have time to go running out to their cars," Draovitch said. PINE VALLEY, Calif. (KGTV) -- A woman was arrested Wednesday for reportedly trying to smuggle 160 packages of methamphetamine with her kids in the car. According to Border Patrol, the woman was traveling through the Interstate 8 checkpoint when agents used a K-9 to sniff the vehicle. The woman was sent to a secondary inspection for further examination after a K-9 alerted agents. After searching through the vehicle, agents found bundles of meth hidden in the rear cargo area, rear bumper, center console and all four doors as well at the vehicle’s spare tire. The woman, a 32-year-old U.S. citizen, was arrested and her minor children released to family members. The incident comes one day after another woman was arrested in East County for reportedly trying to smuggle methamphetamine with her 6-year-old son in the car. “This is the second event this week where drug smugglers used children as a diversion,” said San Diego Sector Chief Patrol Agent Douglas Harrison. “I am proud of our agents’ dedication.
