CINCO RANCH, Texas – Investigators say a 29-year-old man was shot and killed by intruders who broke into his suburban Houston home.The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office says Brenton Estorffe was killed early Wednesday at his home in Cinco Ranch, a community 26 miles west of Houston.Sheriff Troy Nehls says Estorffe told a 911 operator that someone had broken a window in the back of his house. The man confronted the two intruders and was shot. The intruders then fled."The father woke up and confronted apparently two individuals, at which time there was some gunshots that were fired and the homeowner, a white male, is deceased inside the residence," said Nehls.Nehls says Estorffe didn't appear to be armed. His wife and two young children were not injured."It's sad, sad," said Nehls. "We have a homeowner now here in Fort Bend County who is no longer with us, and the father of two small children. COOKEVILLE, Tenn. — More than a day after 24 people were killed and hundreds more injured in a series of severe storms and tornadoes in the areas surrounding Nashville, 21 people are still missing.The 21 missing people — five of whom are children — are all from Putnam County, located east of downtown Nashville. The county was one of the hardest hit areas of the storms Tuesday morning, with 18 people already pronounced dead in the county. Eighty-eight people in the county were treated for injuries relating to the storm.The Putnam County Sheriff's Office said they've searched about 60% of the area, and they've been checking places all night that were in the tornado's path.Putnam County Sheriff Eddie Farris said there's a possibility that officials could find some missing people when they launch a particular area Wednesday morning."An approximately 20-acre field that is located between Echo Valley Estates and North McBroom Chapel Road. DENVER — On World Autism Awareness Day Tuesday, Colorado Gov. Jared Polis signed a bill that expands medical marijuana use. Advocates have been fighting for two years to add autism to a list of qualifying medical conditions in Colorado.“I definitely believe it’s going to help kids for many reasons," said Michelle Walker, a parent of an autistic child who has other conditions that qualified him for medical marijuana. "One of the biggest reasons is I’ve seen it. I’ve seen my son’s life change. I’ve seen our family’s life change. It’s done a 180, and we’re not the only ones."Walker and her family moved to Colorado for the sole reason of obtaining medical marijuana for her son. He was able to start using medical marijuana to treat his seizures but said she also noticed a difference in his overall behavior."So I know it is an option for others and that it can be a beneficial option," Walker said.Walker and other families were at the Colorado State Capitol last year when a similar bill was vetoed. Former Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper did not sign off on the bill because he said more research was needed."It was heartbreaking," she said. "I cried, and my son has access, but to look in these families eyes after they had fought so hard, it was crushing."Those parents cried happy tears when Polis signed the bill on Tuesday.
