SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A San Diego man is accused of having and distributing explicit images of minors.According to a federal complaint that was just unsealed authorities allege Gilad Daniel Reifler knowingly distributed visual depictions of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct and possessed images of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. The federal documents say agents used peer-to-peer file sharing software to connect to his computer in January 2017 and obtain more than four thousand images. Agents say they were able to connect to the computer on two other dates and obtain more sexually explicit files.According to the complaint in June of 2017 agents searched Reifler’s home where they claim he admitted to obtaining and distributing child pornography via the same P2P file-sharing program that they used to obtain the images from a device in his residence.Court documents say, “following the execution of the search warrant I reviewed media seized from Reifler’s residents. The results showed over 170,000 images and over 10,000 videos depicting minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct on media seized.”A man who identified himself has Gilad Reifler told Team 10 investigator Adam Racusin he had no comment about the allegations.10News tried to get a hold of Reifler’s attorney, but as of this writing have not heard back. The FBI tells Team 10 they can’t comment on anything outside of what’s already in the public documents. 1466

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A new study says that Millennials are leaving their jobs mainly because they're looking for more meaning in what they do.The study, by the San Diego Chamber of Commerce, found that 51.9% of Millennials say they're thinking of leaving their job in the next six months.Of the ones who felt that way, their main reason for wanting to leave is a lack of meaning or purpose in their current job."They want to understand exactly what product or service their company provides and how it makes their community better," says Chamber VP of Research Sean Kerafin, who wrote the study."They can't find all of their value in a job simply from a paycheck," Kerafin says. "They have to understand the bigger picture."Kerafin says that's an essential lesson for local employers to know since Millennials make up 39.7% of the workforce. That's more than any other generation.Kerafin says companies need to emphasize a culture that is "Purpose-Driven" over one that prioritizes profit if they want to attract and retain Millennials.Other findings in the study, which is based on interviews with 400 Millennials in San Diego, show that they want to work for a company where there is an opportunity to grow from within. The survey found that 22% of Millennials cite professional development as a top driver of satisfaction, compared to just 5.8% who cite office perks."They come from a generation of participation trophies and being told they can do anything they put their mind to, and they believe it," Kerafin says. "The truth is they can if they're supported."Kerafin says companies that have excellent mentoring and development programs are more likely to keep Millennials around longer. The study also found that 65.3% of Millennials are satisfied with their job. But even that may not be enough to keep them in San Diego.According to the survey, 44% of Millennials are "very likely" to leave San Diego in the next two years. They say a lack of affordable housing is the main reason. The Chamber says local government leaders can help businesses by incentivizing more housing. 2087

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A man involved in a DUI hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a young boy in the South Bay started his sentencing hearing Wednesday for violating federal immigration laws.Constantino Banda Acosta, a Mexican national who had previously been deported from the U.S. at least 15 times in the past, has been in federal custody since March over federal criminal re-entry charges. He was transferred to federal custody after charges against him stemming from a 2017 crash were dismissed.Banda faced charges in the May 6, 2017, crash in San Ysidro that sent young Lennox Lake to the hospital with serious injuries, including head trauma.Banda was initially charged with drunk driving and hit-and-run after authorities said he ran a stop sign at Dairy Mart Road and slammed his pickup truck into the Lake family’s car as they were heading home from a Disneyland trip.Banda left the scene but was arrested about two miles away after Border Patrol agents spotted his damaged truck parked on a street, police said.San Diego police Officer Michael Muniz testified in the first trial that Banda's blood-alcohol content measured .151 and .152.Following a mistrial, a judge dismissed the case against Banda in March, saying there was no clear evidence that showed he was behind the wheel at the time of the crash.Banda’s lawyers had argued that another man in the truck, Jorge Adame Ariza, may have been driving the truck after a night of drinking with Banda.Adame said Banda got into a fight with another man outside a Chula Vista restaurant before the crash. During testimony in a preliminary hearing, Adame said he picked up Banda but later moved into the passenger seat with Banda behind the wheel during the crash.RELATED COVERAGE: 1759

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A new monolith was supposed to be unveiled at a Scripps Ranch shopping center on Wednesday, but it was found destroyed hours before the introduction ceremony.Several weeks ago, a mysterious monolith appeared at the Scripps Ranch Marketplace, attracting crowds and raising questions like where it came from and who put it there. However, several days later, the monolith was removed by a group of teenagers. The theft of the monolith was disappointing for many, including Nutmeg Bakery & Café co-owner Drew Hoffus. He told ABC 10News that his business not only had a first-class view of the monolith, but it helped bring in customers.“This year has been a challenge for everyone … The landmarks helped us out a lot. Our business was struggling this year,” Hoffus said.RELATED STORIES:Mysterious monolith removed from San Diego parking lotMonolith appears at San Diego County shopping centerOther people ABC 10News spoke to said it was unofficially named the “monolith of hope” because visitors and residents would touch it and take pictures with it, but it also brought them a sense of joy. After the group of teens stole the monolith, management at the shopping center decided to replace it.The unveiling was set for Wednesday morning, but overnight, the structure was wrecked.“The plaque we had made speaks to dedicating the monolith to the community, to the local businesses that helped us get through this crazy year. For someone to tear it town, before it’s unveiled, it’s a little frustrating, almost sickening …,” said Hoffus.Police are looking into surveillance footage as part their investigation.Anyone with information on this incident is asked to come forward. 1700
