LOS ANGELES (AP) — A former business manager of Stan Lee has been arrested on elder abuse charges involving the late comic book legend.Los Angeles police say Keya Morgan was taken into custody in Arizona early Saturday on an outstanding arrest warrant.Morgan was charged earlier this month with felony allegations of theft, embezzlement, forgery or fraud against an elder adult, and false imprisonment of an elder adult.Authorities say Morgan sought to manipulate and exert control over Lee even though he didn't have authority to act on Lee's behalf.Lee died in November at the age of 95.Attorney Alex Kessel has said Morgan has never abused or taken advantage of Lee. LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The U.S. Justice Department in Los Angeles announced today that it has obtained an additional .4 million for servicemembers whose vehicles were repossessed by Wells Fargo Bank in violation of federal law.Wells Fargo reached a million settlement with federal prosecutors last year over allegations it illegally repossessed more than 400 cars owned by members of the military without a court order.The settlement resolves alleged violations of the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act, which protects service members against certain civil proceedings that could affect their legal rights while they are in the service.The additional amount brings the total compensation under the settlement to more than .1 million and the total number of servicemembers eligible for relief to more than 860."The SCRA provides important protections and is intended to prevent unnecessary financial hardship for the brave women and men who serve in our armed forces," said acting U.S. Attorney Sandra R. Brown."Losing an automobile through an unlawful repossession while serving our country is a problem servicemembers should not have to confront. LONDON (AP) — St. Bernards are known for helping to rescue distressed travelers in the mountains, but on Sunday the tables were turned in northern England. Sixteen volunteers from the Wasdale mountain rescue team took turn carrying Daisy, a 121-pound (55 kilogram) St Bernard, from England’s highest peak, Scafell Pike. The mountain rescue team spent nearly five hours rescuing Daisy, who had collapsed while descending the mountain on Friday evening. Rescue workers say she was displaying signs of pain in her rear legs and was refusing to move. They administered some pain relief, adjusted their stretcher to be more dog-friendly and packed a few treats to help settle her down.
