Many Americans lack basic knowledge about the Holocaust — a stat many say could hold grave consequences, according to a survey results released on Thursday. The survey found that nearly half of all Americans — 41 percent — couldn't identify Auschwitz, a concentration camp where an estimated 1.1 million Jews and minorities were killed at the hands of Nazis during World War II. Among millennials, that number rose to 66 percent.The survey also found that a significant portion of Americans don't understand the scale of the Holocaust. According ro results, 31 percent of adults — and 41 percent of millennials — believe that two million or less Jewish people were killed during the Holocaust. It's commonly estimated that as many as six million Jews died in the Holocaust.Most of the survey respondents (58 percent) agreed that "something like the Holocaust could happen again," and commonly agreed that students should be learning more. Ninety-three percent of the respondents said that students should learn about the Holocaust in school, and 80 percent said it is important to keep teaching about the Holocaust so it doesn't happen again.According to a survey commissioned by the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany and conducted by Shoen Consulting. Middletown, Connecticut (WFSB) -- A car slammed into Middlesex Hospital in Middletown, Connecticut and caught fire on Thursday morning.According to Middletown Mayor Dan Drew, the act was intentional and that there were gas cans in the car.Drew said in a noon news conference that a man in his 20s crashed into the emergency room entrance and then set himself on fire. He was reportedly at Bridgeport Hospital in critical condition.One person was hurt, according to dispatchers.“I heard a noise," said Gary Mills, an eyewitness. "I was in my room. I put my shoes on and looked out the window and I saw all the smoke coming out. I said 'something is happening over there.' My sister got up. We went outside and we saw all the flames and then over this side I see this guy screaming, he was screaming! LOVELAND, Ohio -- Someone drove through the wall of a sports bar near Cincinnati early Sunday after a fight, according to another patron.The vehicle, a Kia Optima, crashed through a fence, across a patio and into the side of Zappz Sports Bar and Grille in Loveland, Ohio at about 2:30 a.m.Blake Freeman, who was at the bar, said the driver smashed into the building on purpose after being kicked out. Freeman said he arrived moments after that."I was standing there 30 minutes prior to this happening. However, the industry is ringing the alarm, warning that most childcare providers are on the brink of closing permanently.“The fixed cost in these small businesses is so high that you are already running at very close margins and then with COVID, that pushed everything over the edge,” said Serah Kaiel.Kaiel has owned and run a small day care, Little Thinkers Montessori in New York City, for nine years. In March, her enrollment dropped by almost 80%, while her cost to stay open went up substantially.“It is like 0 to ,000 per child extra per year,” said Kaiel.
