Activities will have a special focus on skills and contributions by women including quilting, spinning, cooking, and basket making.The trades that shaped San Diego will be on display during "Trades that Shaped the West" (12 p.m. - 4 p.m.) on Aug. 3. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — One man is dead and three people have been detained for questioning after a reported shooting overnight in Paradise Hills.San Diego Police arrived at a home in the 6200 block of Childs Avenue just after 1 a.m. Saturday over reports of a shooting. Officers arrived to find a 20-year-old, later identified as Tyshawn Powell, lying in the driveway of the home and a family member performing CPR.Fire-Rescue arrived to continue life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.Police said the man had been shot at least once. Neighbors were interviewed about the reported gunshots in the area and as a result, an adult male and female, and a juvenile male were detained. According to police, Angelo Roshon Richardson Jr., 19, and Mikayla Ann Castillo, 18, as well as a 17-year-old were detained. Richardson was booked into jail for murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm while Castillo was booked into jail for being an accessory to murder. The 17-year-old was released pending further investigation. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the SDPD Homicide Unit at 619-531-2293 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477. 1188

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Police have confirmed that the 19-year-old woman shot near Sunset Cliffs Thursday morning was targeted. Police told 10News they received a call at about 7:10 a.m. from a person who spotted a bleeding woman lying on a staircase next to the beach off Ladera Street, near Sunset Cliffs Boulevard.Responding officers arrived and found the woman with multiple gunshot wounds.The 19-year-old was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center. Police said Thursday afternoon that the woman is in stable condition and was able to tell police she had no idea what happened.Police said they do not have any information on a suspected shooter at this time.Police told 10News they have not been able to find anyone who heard gunshots or saw what might have happened. 792

  

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - More than 830 pounds of narcotics, over .5 million and 20 fugitives were captured over the weekend in San Diego and Imperial Valley counties.Border officials said the seizures occurred from Friday, March 9 to Sunday, March 11. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers intercepted 465 pounds of methamphetamine, 85 pounds of cocaine, 45 pounds of heroin, and 240 pounds of marijuana.The drugs were hidden within various places inside vehicles, including door panels, floors, and gas tanks.RELATED: US border officer falsely claimed to be US citizen, authorities claimDuring that same period of time, officials arrested 20 people for various charges including sex assault, embezzlement, burglary, shoplifting, and probation violation."Narcotics smugglers try to conceal their illegal items in many voids naturally found in vehicles," Pete Flores, director of field operations for CBP in San Diego, said.
