SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A U.S. Army veteran pleaded not guilty in San Diego Wednesday to a pair of assault with a deadly weapon charges for allegedly stabbing an active-duty serviceman who, along with a friend, pointed out that the veteran's Private First Class badge was upside down on his uniform.Marc Dominguez, 42, who served in the Army in 2003 and 2004 as a Private First Class E-3, was ordered held on ,000 bail.Deputy District Attorney Kelly Rand told Judge Maureen Hallahan that Dominguez stabbed the active-duty serviceman and lunged at the victim's friend with a knife about 11:30 p.m. last Thursday at a Gaslamp Quarter bar after they questioned whether the defendant was in the military because a patch on his uniform was not attached correctly.The active-duty serviceman was stabbed in the head and bicep and sliced his fingers while trying to get the knife away from Dominguez, the prosecutor said. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Authorities reached out to the public Wednesday for help in identifying a man seen fleeing the scene of a deadly shooting in the Chollas Creek neighborhood.Officers responding to reports of gunfire near Colina Park Golf Course about 2:30 p.m. Friday found 26-year-old Lazaro Orozco mortally wounded in the 4000 block of 52nd Street, according to San Diego police. Medics took Orozco to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.A man believed to be the shooter was seen running out of the area to the west following the shooting, Lt. Matthew Dobbs said.The suspect was described as a roughly 5-foot-7-inch Latino in his 20s or early 30s, wearing plaid shorts, a white shirt, a blue jacket, white tennis shoes and what appeared to be a cast or bandage on his left arm.Investigators believe the deadly shooting occurred during a roadside fight between the two men. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Father Joe's Villages and Connections Housing Downtown will accommodate nearly 300 additional homeless residents on Christmas Eve due to forecasted overnight rain, the San Diego Housing Commission announced Monday. The commission activates the Inclement Weather Shelter Program when temperatures drop below 50 degrees, the chance of rain is higher than 40 percent or in the case of sustained high winds. The program is a partnership between the commission, the city of San Diego, Father Joe's and Connections Housing. The commission also funds the program. Father Joe's can shelter an additional 250 residents throughout the night while Connections Housing can add up to 30 residents. Check-in at Father Joe's begins at 4 p.m. and residents are expected to check out by 5 a.m. the next morning. Check-in at Connections Housing runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. and residents are expected to check out by 7 a.m. the next morning. Those at both shelters will have meals provided to them. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A robbery at a Tierrasanta credit union branch led to one arrest, police said Friday.A man entered a Navy Federal Credit Union branch in the 10600 block of Tierrasanta Boulevard at 1:26 p.m. and presented the teller with a demand note, San Diego Police Officer Sarah Foster said.The teller complied with the suspect's demands and gave him an undetermined amount of money.Officers headed to the scene and, after a search, were able to find and detain the suspect, a 57-year-old man, on Porto Court in a nearby residential neighborhood, according to San Diego Police Sgt.
