ATLANTA (KGTV) - An Atlanta Delta flight was forced to return to the ground shortly after takeoff when black smoke began billowing from one of its engines.The Delta aircraft took off from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Wednesday shortly after 6 p.m. EDT when the smoke was reported, according to airport officials. Multiple reports indicate the plane was heading for London's Heathrow Airport.About 43 minutes after takeoff, the plane returned to the ground and airport fire crews hosed down the engine. The plane was then towed back to its terminal.RELATED: Southwest passenger is first to die on a US airline since 2009No injuries were reported and the airport endured "minimal impact" to other operations, officials said.The emergency landing occurs one day after a Southwest Airlines plane blew an engine while traveling from New York to Dallas and was forced to land in Philadelphia.Jennifer Riordan, 43, was struck by shrapnel from the engine and partially sucked out of a window. Some of the nice things about these masks are some of them can be lovely and fun. You can pick masks that have themes or that have resonance with that person," Dr. Allison B. Reiss with The Alzheimer's Foundation of America, told KIVI-TV.For those who don't like the consistent handwashing, Dr. Reiss says buying soaps with a fragrance can make a big difference and encourage them to wash their hands more often."I think a lot of us have that, that olfactory memory, so a scent that you enjoy brings such good feelings. Like cinnamon apple smells of apple pie and childhood, vanilla. You know many people love the scent of a warm home kitchen or the scent of outdoors and flowers and gardens and grass. As the saying goes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And when it comes to appreciating art, that may be more true than ever. It's so subjective and comes down to true appreciation. One woman understands that more than most.To Myrna Hayutin the photos on her gallery wall are more than pictures of the past. She points out some of the art on display.  "This is a limited edition signed by Carl Mydans," Hayutin said. "This is Babe Ruth the last time he put on his uniform."These are works of art."It is history," Hayutin said. "It's just knowledge."And for the last 35 years she's been selling fine art like these pieces, despite the fact that she's legally blind."I anticipate doing this for at least another 10 years," Hayutin said. "As long as my eyesight holds."Hayutin started losing her eyesight when she was eight due to retinitis pigmentosa. And over the years, it's gotten progressively worse."It's like an island," Hayutin said. "As the disease progresses the island gets smaller and smaller now I see through two straws. So you may be standing right here but I am not seeing you. Or if were talking and you move I'll lose you."Still it hasn't affected her love for art or her determination to purse it as a career."It never occurred to me to stop me from doing anything that I really wanted to do," Hayutin said.Hayutin runs a successful international fine art gallery, Gallery M, and recently became an art appraiser."I'm looking at the artwork but honestly thank goodness with my devices I can really zoom in and see them much, much better," Hayutin said.Hayutin said her dog, Gouda, helps her navigate the changes in her eyesight, but what helps most is not focusing on what could happen."I would never have opened the gallery if I was fearful of what would be instead of what was at that time," Hayutin said. "I try to live in today and use the eyesight that I have today."Hayutin said every day is what you make it."There are some days where I'm not as positive as I should be, but I try it," Hauytin said. "I try to get back on that positive I mean because I'm surrounded by all of this gorgeous art and that's very uplifting."  2212

AURORA, Colo. – Aurora Interim Chief of Police Vanessa Wilson has opened an internal affairs investigation in connection with the alleged behavior of several police officers at the site where Elijah McClain was approached and arrested by police last year.In a statement, Wilson said she learned Thursday "of allegations by an Aurora Police Officer alleging multiple Aurora Police officers were depicted in photographs near the site where Elijah McClain died."The cryptic late-night statement by Wilson does not go into details about what those photographs show, but they were serious enough to immediately order an internal affairs investigation. That investigation was completed Monday evening, Wilson said.The officers involved were all placed on paid administrative leave in non-enforcement capacities, according to a prepared statement.The investigation will be “publicly released in its entirety promptly upon its conclusion,” said Wilson, adding the investigation will include reports, photographic evidence, officer’s names, “and my final determination which can rise to the level of termination.”Monday’s announcement is the latest in a series of public relations disasters over the past year for the embattled police department.Earlier Monday, Wilson spoke to KMGH and other local news outlets after her officers pepper-sprayed protesters during a Saturday demonstration in which hundreds gathered to demand justice in the death of the 23-year-old, who died after the encounter with police in August of last year.
