SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A woman involved in a fiery multi-vehicle crash in the College Area on Wednesday died several hours after being taken to the hospital.Casey Diane Hargis, 22, was pronounced dead at UCSD Medical Center on Thursday morning, after a vehicle slammed into the Ford Fusion she was in as it was stopped at an intersection the night before.Hargis and the driver, a 22-year-old woman, were both taken to the hospital suffering from second- and third-degree burns on more than 70% of their bodies, along with internal bleeding.RELATED: Several hurt in multi-vehicle crash at College Area intersectionHargis died of vascular injuries from pelvic fractures, according to the county medical examiner's report.The condition of the driver has not been officially released.Wednesday, a 63-year-old man was driving in his Mercedes when he suffered an unknown medical issue and slammed into the back of the Ford that Hargis was traveling in at 70th Street and El Cajon Blvd.The force of the crash pushed both vehicles into the opposite lanes of El Cajon Blvd, where they were struck by three other vehicles, causing the Ford to ignite and leaving the women trapped inside before witnesses could pull them from the vehicle.The Mercedes driver was taken to the hospital for treatment, but his condition wasn't immediately released. The other drivers involved were taken to the hospital for minor injuries. 1412

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Amid coronavirus fears, retailers in San Diego County and around the world are trimming operating hours to focus on cleaning and restocking. Some stores are even closing until further notice. The shopping frenzy continues as residents prepare to hunker down for weeks at a time. Some said they found a way to bypass the chaotic crowds. "Because I live close, like 300 feet from Ralphs, I finally figured out to go at 11:30 or midnight," one man told 10News. But not anymore. Many grocery stores announced they are shortening their operating hours. Von's supermarkets are now open from 7 am to 9 pm. Ralph's parent company, Kroger, announced nationwide, that they will only be open from 8 am to 8 pm to focus on deep cleaning and restocking shelves. Trader Joe's stores began limiting the number of shoppers in their stores. Starting Monday, they will only be open from 9 am to 7 pm. Some shoppers said, instead of rushing into stores and hoarding up supplies, we need to work together. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A two-year-old girl found strapped to the chest of an immigrant teenager is in the custody of Immigrations and Customs Enforcement officials, the U.S. Border Patrol said Monday.The girl was part of a group of six undocumented immigrants found traveling near Campo Nov. 27, officials said.The 17-year-old boy who was carrying the girl said she had been with her mother the previous night, but the mother became tired and asked the teen to hold her daughter. When the group separated, he could not locate the mother, he told Border Patrol officials.Authorities are trying to reunite the girl with her mother.The U.S. Border Patrol said it maintains a high level of vigilance in border zones to prevent the smuggling of humans, drugs, and other contraband. 780

"But innocent people have been dying for the past eight years. So to us, especially the Kurds, this was a positive."Most of Salih's family has fled to Europe, trekking weeks at a time with little to eat."Everyday we're concerned that we're not going to hear from (my aunt) anymore, so every day that I hear her voice is a relief that they're still alive."Salih says she hopes her aunt will be able to come to the U.S. Someday.She also hopes that U.S. involvement will open the eyes of the rest of the world, making them realize that atrocities are happening in her home country. "I do appreciate being here," she said.
