An infected person breathes out aerosols that are suspended in the air, then another person walks through that air and breathes it in.It’s no secret that heath officials have discussed the importance of good airflow to stop the spread, but this paper says leaders like the WHO are not recognizing the possibility that it is airborne and the “lack of clear recommendations on the control measures against the airborne virus will have significant consequences: people may think that they are fully protected by adhering to the current recommendations, but in fact, additional airborne interventions are needed for further reduction of infection risk.”Researchers say wearing masks and social distancing are important steps to stopping the spread, but want to also emphasize that other steps need to be taken to stop the spread through the air. SAN DIEGO, Calif. (KGTV) - The City of San Diego has a new challenge that promotes bike riding, exploring the community and supporting local businesses. The Better by Bike blog is website that features everything from bike routes, to bike repair tips, to features on local bike riders.Part of the new program is a scavenger hunt that takes riders through the mid-city area. It ends Aug. 30 and is a competition to see who can get the most points after visiting local businesses and answering questions. The challenges range from taking pictures of specific spots to describing murals painted by local artists. It uses the Scavify application. Winners will then be awarded prizes, including gift cards to local restaurants.Anisha Gianchandani is the Climate Advisor for the City of San Diego and said this is part of a bigger-picture project to decrease greenhouse gas emissions and make San Diego more livable.“So it’s really just a fun way to get outside safely, enjoy your neighborhood and support small local businesses,” she said, later adding that “when you slow down, you get to see so many parts of your neighborhood that you normally wouldn’t see in a car.”It also helps local businesses. Stores and restaurants had the chance to submit their locations to be part of the scavenger hunt, which brings foot traffic to the area.Juan Pablo Sanchez’s family owns Super Cocina, one of the stops on the scavenger hunt. They had a local artist paint a mural on their wall outside, and their question pertains to that art.“We want to encourage you to use these streets, to go through us, to see our culture, to see the people that live here,” said Sanchez.Rudy Vargas, a native to the City Heights area, has embraced the challenge, heading up the leaderboard. Now, posts with the tag #IAmVanessaGuillen are circulating online, as people share their own stories of sexual assault in the military.Billiekai Boughton with the San Diego Women Veterans Network said any conversation like this can bring up hard memories for female veterans. She said while many women have a positive experience in the military, four out of five females report harassment or assault. The goal of her group is to support women through any of this pain. She says this is important in a community like San Diego which has about 26,000 female veterans.“For those of us who have been in the military and have had negative experiences, this can be a memory (sic) of feeling unsafe,” said Boughton.The group’s website says the most common request of women veterans in San Diego is to meet other women veterans. Their primary goal is to create a community for female military veterans, while also encouraging community service and policy change, which encourages and embraces the positive traits female vets have to offer.“Our friends remind us how strong we are. SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Google is restarting a practice in which human contractors listen to and transcribe some voice commands people give to the company's artificial intelligence system, Assistant. But this time Google is taking steps to make sure people know what they are agreeing to.The company suspended its transcription practices after more than 1,000 Dutch-language recordings were leaked to the media in Belgium this summer. Google required users to opt-in to the service before audio transcriptions were recorded, but critics have said people didn't fully understand they were agreeing to allow human transcribers to listen in because the company's language was unclear.Amazon, Microsoft, Apple and Facebook have all used similar practices. The companies say it helps make their AI systems more accurate.Now Google will require users to agree again to voice transcription and make it clear human transcribers might listen to recordings. People don't have to opt-in to the service, but certain Assistant features won't be available if they don't.The company also said it will delete most recordings after a few months, and people can review their recordings and delete them manually at any time. 1210
