SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- Google seems to get no blessings for a good start for its New Year resolutions as the Internet search giant got an earful of complaints about its new social search service and felt mortified by a customer-poaching scandal in its Kenyan division.On Tuesday, Google announced "search plus your world" to deliver personalized search results by embedding its social service Google+ to its search engine.Although Google called it as "a beautiful journey begins," competitors and industry watchers said it was "a bad day for the Internet." They accused the company of using its dominant search engine to promote its own social networking site by giving Google+ pages and profiles an artificially prominent position in search results.The search giant first had a public bickering with Twitter which issued a statement on Tuesday saying that "As we've seen time and time again, news breaks first on Twitter. We're concerned that as a result of Google's changes, finding this information will be much harder for everyone."Google on Wednesday made a statement on its official Google+ page, saying that "We're a bit surprised by Twitter's comments because they chose not to renew their agreement with us last summer." Twitter general counsel Alex Macgillivray tweeted a page of Google search results for the search term "@WWE" which did not include World Wrestling Entertainment's Twitter page, but Google+ page.Macgillivray noted that with 792,642 followers on Twitter compared with 24,900 followers on Google+, WWE's Twitter page is a more relevant social source than Google page and should be presented in Google's search results.Facebook, Google+'s major rival, has been remaining silent this week publicly while its employees criticized Google's moves in public status updates. Mainly consist of soil, rice bran and micro-organisms, a tennis-sized EM Ball is capable to clean up 10 liter of water and can last for as long as one month, which making it a perfect water sanitizer.Another main objective of the event was to educate citizens on the simple steps of making EM Balls, in case of more flood in the city, he said.The organization had generated buzz on social media sites like facebook and twitter, calling everyone to help.Held at Amarin Plaza, one shopping mall at city centre, the activity attracted groups of volunteers, including office workers, local students and even foreign visitors.Volunteers were lining up to get the raw materials from the collection point and gave back completed EM Balls to the distribution centre in boxes. BEIJING, Sept. 29 (Xinhuanet) -- Even a slightly high blood pressure is considered dangerous to largely increase the stroke risk, a new study found.The finding was published Wednesday on the online edition of U.S. medical journal Neurology.In the study, researchers found people who have pre-hypertension, whose blood pressure measured between normal and high, are 55 percent more likely to suffer a stroke compared with normal people.The study involved data from 12 previous studies on blood pressure and stroke occurrence of some 500,000 adults.About one in three U.S. adults suffer from pre-hypertension, which is defined at a systolic blood pressure between 120 and 139 or a diastolic blood pressure between 80 and 89, according to the U.S. Joint National Committee on Prevention, Detection, Evaluation and Treatment of High Blood Pressure."People who do fall into the higher range of pre-hypertension should modify their lifestyle as much as possible," suggested Dr. Bruce Ovbiagele, director of the Olive View-UCLA Stroke Program and leading author of the study.Stroke is the number three cause of death, killing more than 130,000 in the U.S. a year, according to a CBS report.

NANCHANG, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- A copper sword dating back more than 2,200 years has been discovered in east China's Jiangxi Province, local archaeologists said.The design and shape of the sword indicate that it was forged during the Warring States Period (475 BC - 221 BC), according to Li Guoli, curator of the Nanchang Museum, where the sword is currently being stored.Despite having little aesthetic or scientific value due to a lack of decor or inscriptions, the sword still offers insights into the type of military equipment used during the period, Li said.The identity of the sword's original owner and the precise location where the sword was forged and used are still unknown, Li said.The sword was discovered by a laborer surnamed Xiong in Jiangxi's capital of Nanchang. Xiong found the sword while sorting and cleaning stones that had been dredged up from a riverbank.An argument between Xiong and another worker who was trying to claim the sword aroused attention from the local law enforcement, who then convinced Xiong to turn the sword over to archaeological authorities.

TEHRAN, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Iran is going to launch domestically- built Navid satellite by Safir satellite launcher by the end of March 2012, the semi-official Mehr news agency reported on Sunday.Navid (promise) is a research satellite and is currently undergoing pre-launch tests, said the report without further details.In June, Iran put the Rasad (surveillance) satellite in the orbit to render images to the country.Iran put a satellite into orbit in 2009 and sent some small animals into space in 2010.
