CHULA VISTA, Calif. (CNS) -- A San Diego County sheriff's deputy pleaded not guilty Wednesday to 20 felony and misdemeanor charges related to sex acts with underage girls, as well as attempts to meet up with minors for sexual purposes.Jaylen Devon Fleer, 27, was taken into custody by police last week following a nearly four-month investigation, Chula Vista Police Lt. Dan Peak said.Fleer, a member of the sheriff's jail and court-services unit, is charged with counts that include lewd acts upon a child, contacting a minor with intent to commit a sexual offense, and sending harmful matter to a minor.He faces 18 years and four months in state prison if convicted of all charges, according to the San Diego County District Attorney's Office.The case came to light April 9, when San Diego County Crime Stoppers received tips regarding an unidentified man who allegedly had engaged in sex acts with a juvenile, according to Peak."Investigators were able to identify the suspect and also determine that there were two additional underage victims," the lieutenant said, adding that the alleged offenses "had no nexus to (Fleer's) employment."The criminal complaint indicates there are four victims, identified as Jane Does 1 through 4. The alleged acts occurred between March 27 and April 8 of this year, the complaint alleges.The alleged relationships between Fleer and the victims has not been disclosed, and it was stated during Fleer's arraignment Wednesday morning that the victims do not know each other.While the general facts of criminal court cases are typically laid out in open court during arraignments when attorneys make bail arguments, those arguments were held in private during Fleer's arraignment.San Diego County Superior Court Judge Garry Haehnle said he had concerns about the privacy of the alleged victims, and asked members of the media to leave the courtroom while attorneys made their arguments regarding Fleer's bail. (KGTV) - A fire in a drainage tunnel had Chula Vista firefighters donning protective masks Thursday.The fire broke out about 4:30 Thursday afternoon at Eastlake Parkway and Otay Lakes Road, near the Vons and Lowe's shopping centers. It was quickly knocked down."Witnesses reported smoke billowing from a storm drain and several people running from the area," Chula Vista Fire IAFF local 2180 officials posted on twitter. "Please give our firefighters room while they work."The Chula Vista Fire Department said juveniles started the fire in the drain and left the area. But Tracy also said she would resign if what she calls “cyber bullying” toward her doesn’t stop.Speaking at her Fairfield, Ohio gym, the owner and coach of Cincinnati Gymnastics Academy strongly condemned Nassar and didn’t deny the positive comments she made about the since-convicted sexual abuser to Scripps affiliate WCPO in Cincinnati in December 2016. Tracy’s two-year-old comment sparked a controversy this week when Aly Raisman, an Olympic champion and Nassar survivor, went on Twitter and protested Tracy’s new national post as Elite Development Coordinator.As much as Tracy said she wanted the job, she also said she has received three “fairly threatening emails” and one that said she “should be in a jail cell next to Larry Nassar.” She has also been vilified on social media to the point that she has already told US Gymnastics she would not keep job if it means hurting her family.“What I feel I need to say is that when I saw Aly putting out some things about something I said two years ago as this was all coming out, that was my truth,” Tracy said about her 2016 comments about Nassar, the former national team doctor now accused of sexually assaulting up to 250 women and girls and serving up to 165 years in prison.“Larry had been treating my athletes for well over 25 years and had served them very well and had helped me and my athletes return to action," she said Thursday.  "He had been someone that we all unfortunately had trusted and depended on, so when I was asked about my experience with him, that’s what I said.
