CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - Federal and local authorities, in addition to hazmat crews, were called out to the scene of a drug raid in Chula Vista after agents found fentanyl and THC extraction on the property. The raid happened at a home on 2nd Avenue Wednesday afternoon. DEA officials confirmed the search warrant was part of an ongoing investigation. DEA agents arrested one man during their search, and he is suspected of mixing fentanyl with other illegal drugs, according to a DEA spokesperson. Agents did not identify the man or disclose the amount of drugs found. The hazardous materials teams were summoned to the scene to investigate any possible contamination in the neighborhood and to process the drugs that were discovered. 747

CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- The man suspected of robbing a South Bay credit union was arrested following a crash Wednesday afternoon. According to Chula Vista Police, a man entered the Cal Coast Credit Union on the 300 block of East H Street around 2 p.m. Wednesday. Police say the man approached the teller window with his hand in his pocket simulating a weapon and demanded cash from the employee. After receiving the cash, the suspect left the credit union, getting into a getaway vehicle. Police were able to locate suspect based on vehicle information provided by a customer at the credit union. Officers spotted the vehicle going eastbound on H Street and tried to pull the suspect over, but he didn’t stop instead leading police on a chase. At some point during the chase, police say the man ran a red light on Otay Lakes Road, slamming into another vehicle. Both the suspect and victim in the crash were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police haven’t yet released the name of the suspect but say he is under arrest for the bank robbery and felony evasion. 1100

(KGTV) -- Police are investigating two violent incidents that occurred at Chula Vista’s Otay Ranch Town Center in recent weeks.The Chula Vista Police Department is asking for the public’s help as they try to find the people suspected in a stabbing incident on Sept. 25 and an assault on Oct. 2 that happened at the mall on 2015 Birch Rd.In the Sept. 25 incident, at around 6 p.m., two people were approached by a group of four people, and then “three of the subjects began assaulting one of the victims,” police said.Police said one victim was stabbed in the back of the leg and had their backpack stolen. The other victim was not hurt, but one of the assailants took their cell phone.According to police, the incident was captured on video and shared on social media. The suspects in this case were described by police as Black male juveniles.In the Oct. 2 incident, a person was with friends at the mall when he was approached by about eight juveniles. Police said, “One of the suspects then punched the victim and a second suspect stole the victim’s Boston Red Sox baseball hat. CINCINNATI -- The phone call stole Angel Goss' breath.When her children came to investigate the sound of their mother jumping up and down in their home, she could only point at the phone. A match, she tried to tell them. They found a match. She would receive a donor kidney. The search for one her body could accept had lasted 10 years, much of it spent in hours-long sessions of dialysis.Multiple blood transfusions and a diagnosis of lupus, which contributed to her kidney failure, meant she needed to find a donor who met exacting standards: They needed to be alive, and they needed to belong to the 2 percent of the population with a compatible blood type. After a decade, that donor had finally materialized. Ohio State University Hospital found them."I was overjoyed," Goss said. "You know, I've been waiting too long for this. I didn't know how to contain myself because I was just so excited.”She was lying in a hospital bed, ready for surgery, when she learned it wouldn't come. Hurricane Michael stalled the flight carrying her kidney in South Carolina, where the organ spoiled in storage as the ice around it melted, and Goss was speechless again. "I didn't want to hear it," Goss said. "I didn't want to believe it. (I thought,) ‘It's going to come, and when it comes, it's going to be just for me.'"I didn't want to speak to anybody. I felt like everything bad follows me."Goss continues to wake up early for four-hour dialysis sessions every day. She said she forces herself to believe everything happens for a reason, even if she can't see it, and keep her loved ones in mind as she lives each moment to the fullest. She will remain at the top of the kidney transplant list, hoping for another rare donor to come along. In the meantime, she said she hopes sharing her story will encourage those with healthy kidneys to become organ donors. "I just want that second chance," she said. "I want to feel good again." 1975

(KGTV) - After hours of listening to public comment, the Chula Vista Planning Commission decided to table and continue an item that would bring a new recreational storage facility to the city's Eastlake area. The proposed facility would store 80 to 100 vehicles, like boats or RVs, on land between Eastlake High School and Antigua, a gated town-home community.Homeowners begged the planning commission to not accept the plans for the facility saying it would be an eyesore for their properties and lower their property values. The property manager of Titan Storage also made his case before the commissioners, citing the need for the facility in a part of town that is growing quickly. RV owners asked the commission to consider accepting the plan because they say surrounding RV lots are full, forcing them to store their vehicles across town. Ultimately, three commissioners said they could not support the plan as presented and voted instead to continue the item to a future date, giving the storage company time to present a revised plan. So far, no date is scheduled for the next public hearing on this issue. 1143
