BALTIMORE (KGTV) - A former television producer for “The Jerry Springer Show” was arrested in Maryland Thursday for the death of her sister in Los Angeles.Baltimore Police took Jill Blackstone into custody on suspicion of murder and animal cruelty at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Police did not reveal if Blackstone was a patient.According to Los Angeles Police, Blackstone put her sister Wendy, 49, and two dogs in a garage in Los Angeles and set the building on fire in March 2015. LAPD investigators said Blackstone wanted to make Wendy’s death look like an accident.Blackstone was motivated by the emotional and financial hardship of taking care of her sister, who was deaf and partially blind, investigators said.Baltimore Police said Blackstone will be sent back to Los Angeles to face charges.Blackstone worked as a producer on programs including “Family Court with Judge Penny”, the Daily News reported.The Associated Press contributed to this report. 962

BONSALL, Calif. (KGTV) — A Carlsbad man was found dead after his vehicle was located down an embankment in the Bonsall area.A 77-year-old man was reported missing to Carlsbad Police earlier on Saturday before California Highway Patrol was also notified about the man. A location search of the man's mobile phone led authorities and family members to a location at Old Highway 395 and Interstate 15.CHP and family members responded to the scene, where a 2016 Mercedes was found down the embankment on Old Highway 395, below the road level and out of view from traffic. The missing man was found dead inside the vehicle. It wasn't clear what caused the crash, but CHP said impairment is not believed to be a factor.Anyone who may have information on the crash is asked to call CHP at 858-637-3800. 803

BALTIMORE (AP) -- The U.S. Department of Justice won't bring federal charges against six police officers involved in the arrest and death of Freddie Gray, a young black man whose death touched off weeks of protests and unrest in Baltimore.The officers were charged by state prosecutors after Gray's neck was broken in the back of a police transport wagon in April of 2015. BEL AIR, Md  - Crews found the cause of a car fire to be a bit squirrelly...literally.Officials with the Bel Air, Maryland Volunteer Fire Company say they extinguished a car fire last Monday in the 1500 block of Rock Spring Road. Upon putting out the flames, firefighters discovered squirrel and nesting debris in the engine compartment.The incident was captured on video by the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company. 438
