SAN DIEGO — The use of Styrofoam and single-use plastics in the city of San Diego will no longer be allowed beginning Saturday.In January, the City Council voted in favor of banning the use of the products within city limits. Why are we obsessed with the history, the secrets and the mystery?“Salem is most known today for the witch trials of 1692,” Christiansen said. “The twenty people who were executed in 1692 were innocent people. They were accused of witchcraft for any number of reasons, but they were innocent people.”People come from all over the country and the world to see the history of the witch trials. For Tina Fogel, Salem means so much more. “Is the history but it’s also my fifty ninth birthday today and it’s always been on my bucket list to come to Salem,” Fogel said while getting emotional. “We’ve had a rough couple of years. Some say Salem is what it is today because of the very thing that legends say cursed it. “People kept asking me why I keep going back to Salem,” said a man who goes by the name Bubble Bob. “They say it’s a gutter. I say ‘yeah, but it’s my gutter.’ Fifteen to twenty years later, it’s a tourist entertainment spot. So, in a place where it was maybe not so healthy to get brought up is now a healthy environment. When I say it use to be a gutter, I mean a lot of people were dying from drugs and suicide. Twenty years later – nothing but improvement.”“In 1969, the show Bewitched came and filmed several episodes,” said Christiansen. “Because of that, it really put Salem back on the map again as connected to the witch trials. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is proposing a condensed, two-day calendar for opening arguments in President Donald Trump's impeachment trial, ground rules that are raising objections from Democrats on the eve of the landmark proceedings. The Republican leader outlined the process in a four-page resolution that will be voted on as one of the first orders of business when senators convene Tuesday. It also pushes off any votes on witnesses until later in the process, rather than up front, as Democrats had demanded. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer expressed his opposition to McConnell's proposals late Monday. "We will be able to introduce amendments and we will introduce a whole series of amendments for witnesses, for documents and other ways to straighten out what McConnell has done and make it a real trial," Schumer said.Each side will be given 24 hours over the course of two days to make their arguments. That means that opening arguments will conclude by the weekend. Arguments are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. ET on Wednesday. It appears that each day's sessions will not end until 1 a.m., at the earliest. Decorum rules dictate that senators will not be permitted to talk or use electronic devices during arguments. TAMPA, Fla. — A Florida family was attacked outside their home by a swarm of yellow jackets over the weekend.Hundreds of them covered the husband, wife and their 8-year-old son.“We just ran, and ran and ran until they finally decided to leave us alone," Luis Figueroa said.The swarm of yellow jackets, disturbed by a falling palm frond, attacked Figueroa and his family on the way to church."When the fire captain came,” Figueroa said, “he came back to me and he said, ‘you guys are lucky to be alive. You got over 10,000 (wasps) on top of your car.’ ”Conner Keller, an exterminator for Insect IQ, said he had a similar experience when he went out to the scene.“There were hundreds on my truck two days later when I pulled up. Once they’re disturbed and that nest has opened up, it’s on," Keller said.When yellow jacket nests open, Keller and Insect IQ respond all year round. They were the ones called since the nest was originally on Hillsborough County property."A yellow jacket tornado ensued and there was just a huge tornado of yellow jackets.
